Scale I Build

  1. Hello everyone, I apologize for my 4 1/2 yr absence but there has been an awful lot that has transpired in my life in this period of time. I have lost both my parents within 18 months of each other spent the last year getting their estate in order and settled, been through another buyout of the health system I work for with the last 6 months having my brain reconditioned for the new position I now have, have had another grandson who is now 18 months and several home projects that my wife of 44 yrs cracked the whip to get done ( happy wife, happy life ) LOL. I did manage to squeeze a few builds in here and there which I will share in the coming weeks, so I will start with the Revell 1955 Belair convertible, painted with testors emerald green metallic and phonetician yellow w/ wet look clear and rustoleum bright white for the top w/flat clear. Interior was done in craft paints ivory and green, built box stock with BMF. Thank you all for taking time to look!
  2. Hello, this is a monogram 55 Chevy. Painted a Chevy truck color with more blue toner. Automotive solvent base with a urethane clear. The white is a light pearl. Took a big block from a revell el Camino kit and the wheels and tires are from a revell 32 kit. A very great kit. My first monogram kit. Hope you like
  3. Ok, guys, I think I need some help here. 15+ years ago I started this truck with grand ideas of a kit bashed pro street, loosely based on a magazine cover shot. Ron Cash chopped cab, tubs and rear setup from the Super Bee. Scratch built "GMC" hood and grille. I've already shelved it once, and now I'm losing interest again. I cant get it as low as i want in the front, and the years in storage have caused something to warp on the front end. Thoughts? Comments? Thanks for looking
  4. Well I finally completed Big Red the 55 chevy cameo turned dually with a diesel and stacks. Big Red is a very useful and fun truck whether you be offroading or camping, hauling a trailer or just driving Big Red will take care of you.
  5. I want to build a 2 door post 1955 Chevy old school late 1960's gasser and need some advice. I bought the AMT 2 door post kit and for the body. It looks pretty good. I was slightly disappointed by the front large under bumper pan. I plan to leave the front bumper off and the lip on the pan is, in my option, way to thick and deep. I figure I can message it. The frame/pan will not work however because it has a muffler and exhaust molded in. I bought a Monogram 1955 hard top street machine hoping that frame would work, but it too had mufflers and exhaust molded in. That is that back ground. Here is the questions Is there a tri 5 Chevy kit that does not have mufflers and exhaust molded it? What kit has the best straight axle and springs Any ideas on the best way the make a working tilt nose? What kit has the best big block Chevy engine? Would like to build with old School pie crust slicks and Crager SS or Americans. Any source for those?. Thanks in advance for all and any input.
