  1. Here is a full write-up on my most recent build. https://notboxstock.info/kustom-creeper/
  2. Last week I asked about the December 1977 hot rod magazine article. Well this is why, I managed to get ahold of the 1969 Nova SS that was on the cover. It’s obviously not in quite as good of shape anymore but I’ll be restoring it back to its former 70s street machine glory just like it was in the magazine.
  3. I just finished this yesterday. I started it five years ago when it was new but, for some reason, boxed it up just short of final assembly. One week of detail painting and assembly, and here she is. Beautiful kit - well engineered, nicely detailed, and it looks great when done. Go build one, if you haven’t already. Paint is Tamiya TS-15 Blue over gray primer, replicating 1:1 Washington Blue. Engine block is TS-75 Champagne Gold. Interior is Tamiya AS-15 Sand. I had originally planned blue steel wheels and caps, but just bought a re-released roadster and went with the Halibrands. The only part I added that wasn’t in the box was a Revell ‘40 Ford steering wheel painted Racing White. Thanks for looking!
  4. Just got this one finished. I think the rear view is probably the one the competition would see...
  5. Hey guys, This is my current build. It's a 29 Ford roadster pickup "Gow Job". A stripped down, hopped up, pre war hot rod before they were called hot rods. Something a kid in the mid thirties would take to the dry lakes. This is a quick little build I am doing for a YouTube community build project for Ford Truck Month. The body and bed are AMT. The rest is from the Revell 31 Woody. I scratch built the firewall, inner doors and a few engine details. A fun little build.
  6. Hey guys, here are a few progress shots from my current build. Trying to keep this one simple and fun. I'll post more pics as I move along. 7. Alright guys, since the 30 Ford coupe just hit the shelves I need to know how you plan on cutting perfect holes in the visor. A large bit in a pin vise?
  8. My hot red hot rod... love this build, so clean!
  9. I have seen a video somewhere on Youtube that gave me inspiration for building this. I was going to use a scrapped 1/24, but decided to go bigger and doubting on 1/16, I chose 1/12 in the end. I had a partial built '57 sportscoupe laying around and other than just parting it out, I had nowhere to go with that kit. An ideal start. The idea is to make a kind of Rat Rod, but different. Where I personally think that unibody's don't lend themselves for RatRodding, I am trying to prove myself wrong, although I will not leave the body intact. I hope the pictures will make it more clear. I started with cutting of the sides of the frame Then I cut the body in somewhat uneven parts (to give it a Barn Rod look) I also gave it somewhat a tapered look, so smaller in the front. And some much needed reinforcements
  10. going to be a slower build not really in the winter build rythem but already started to ..... the boxart nice supprise inside with surfboards awsome wheels very cool body , the styrene is really thin so still thinking if a top chop is wise , the roof and rear are one piece and the cowl and windscreen post a second part and loose doors . considering the thickness of the styrene i'm not sure if it will be steady enough .. but not saying i wont chop it lol
  11. It has taken me more than half a year and this is my first finished build in 2013! Normally, I would've finished about 8 by now, now just this one. It was a project where I didn't know for sure how it would turn out and what the final look would be, simply because it has never been done before in this way and even with the real cars, the Kubelwagen is mostly left untouched. Not so much with this kit, I decided to modify the heck out of it. I started with cutting up the body and get it from a 4-door to a 2-door model, then I sectioned the body and shortened it. I made a new nose, so the original floorpan could be used and prevented it from making the model look goofy. I added a very wild paintscheme, inside and out, and added a lot of different styled touches. I think that overall, the blend does come out nicely. I haven't gotten a proper photobooth for this size of cars yet, so I made a rough photoshoot, sorry about that.
  12. I wanted to give a heads up to all Tennessee and surrounding areas of this event. Looks like the Knoxville HobbyTown will be donating some prizes for best models! No entry fee, so come on and bring as many models as you want! Thanks for reading
  13. Finished it here it is sporting my high school's logo.
