Scale I Build

  1. This is by far one of the best model kits I have ever bought. It may look complicated, but it was actually easy to assemble. The full color instruction manual was great as well. The kit comes out beautifully. If Revell could pump out models like this the way Round 2 pumps out models every month; Revell would have all my business. This kit knocks it out the park. My only real issues were the kit being molded in different colors instead of white, a minor fit issue withe the lower half, and I'd have liked to see grill that the later models had. Over all, though, it's a beautiful kit. 2. So this kit has been in my built kit cabinet for a few years, and then I noticed this goo pouring out of the wheels. it looks like the rubber is attacking the plastic, and the plastic pours out. I didn't pay it any attention, but it just gets worst and worse. So I took the wheel off & stripped them with brake fluid
  3. I discovered these cars almost 20 years ago when I was working for a model builder. Ever since then I wanted to build a 1/24 or 1/25 scale replica D-type short nose race car. There was a slotcar available in that scale but it is not proportioned well at all. So I found a Revell of Germany XK SS and I decided to convert it to race form. So last night I decided to try and detail up one of the wheels make it a little more accurate. My okan was to cast it in resin. So I threw it in the purple pond last night. Small issue, or should I say large? I will let the pictures speak them selves, but has anyone else had this happen? I donā€™t want an Donk race car!
  4. Hey, everyone! This is my Revell of Germany Jaguar 'D'-Type. The "bump' behind the driver, was made using Milliput. The tonneu cover was made by using black athletic tape. I SB the exhaust parts with K&S aluminum, and all the rivets, screws, and bolts are PE that I applied one-at-a-time with super glue, and the static from the tip of my Olfa blade. As you can see, the engine bay is totally detailed, and I did a tyre upgrade with MRC. The cowl-straps are SB from masking tape, and PE parts.....and the cowl lock is also SB.
  5. So, as you all are probably used to by now from my side. I tend to work on multiple models at once. The reason is simple, i get bored quick. but besides that its also a matter of area to spray bodies, so i do multiple at once when i have the chance to do so, and while i cant i work on the rest untill i cant go any further. The body of the XJ220 i already sprayed before xmas (together with the MK2 and GT3 porsche) so it has had plenty of time to get hard, and now ive started to work on the rest of the kit: It all starts with an engine right? Quick test of the interior, the seat inserts that are still gray on the pics, will be made black before going in for definate: And last but not least (for this moment), a test with the painted body on top:
  6. So i got this one in the mail today, and started immediately with it as it needs to be finished this Xmas to be a gift for my mother. Sprues: test fit the hood on it immediately, getting it ready to be painted. I'm thinking of getting it painted bordeaux red, as its an original color for this car, and mom love's red cars as im out of the country to get another car next week, nice period of time to let the body dry and get hard I'll keep this updated along the way with plenty (probably alot knowing me) of pictures for you all to see (and judge )
  7. So i just finished this model earlier this week: WIP can be seen here:
  8. It's been a 2.5 year dry patch, but finally got one finished, even if it's dinky. Well proud of it! Decals were a bit tough and difficult to conform, even with tonnes of microsol. Comments and criticisms welcome...
  9. Finished this one last night, my very first Tamiya kit. Very well engineered, the only trouble I had was the metal transfers, the kit is old and they wouldn't stick. I used a little Micro Crystal Clear on the ends to keep them on. Pretty happy with the outcome, not my usual subject. Comments welcome, thanks for looking!
  10. Hi people. Does anybody know what is this part? Any more pictures or reference about it? Already googled but unfortunately no good results It is located inside a sort of bay on upper side of the gear box. Thanks guys!
  11. This Jaguar is from Revell of Germany, great model, There are bits and bobs from everywhere.
  12.
