This is little build project I started, while in between waiting for components/design, etc. of others underway
I saw that I could probably develop this scale model using some existing donor components, and so a minimal amount of more labor/time intensive work (like 3D design/printing)
It was designed by Marcello Gandini (of Lamborghini Miura, Countach, Diablo fame & many more), and the child of engineer & builder Claudio Zampolli
It came into the world during that time of the 1990's when bigger was better & the 200 mph supercars started to come into being
The crazy bespoke V16 (yes, 16 cylinder) DOHC engine is it's heart, backed up by a ZF transaxle & unique transverse engine, while longitudinal transaxle, meaning the trans input shaft takes power from the centered output of the V16 block (not unlike an old Alfa Romeo design)
Enjoy!
Originally I had thought to use a cheap (and not greatly accurate anyways) Lambo Diablo kit, but it soon became evident that to satisfy my own personal minimum level of acceptable accuracy, that a wholly scratch built chassis would be required after all
