Scale I Build

  1. Hello, mates! It's been a while since my last post, sorry for that. So I'm glad to introduce you the model I finished just on 31 of December, 2015. By the way, this is the first big rig I was building I took an Italeri kit and carried on a little conversion. The cab was given a rear wall as I wanted it as a daycab. The bed is made from styrene sheets and profiles, the boards were cut from balsa wood sheet. I also made straight exhaust pipes from styrene rod and added mounting brakets made from wire and square profile. The truck has got some aftermarket parts - super-single front tires, six-spoke resin rims, photoetched badges on the hood and grille and the dog, of course. As you can see I tried to represent some wiring and plumbing under the hood and chasis, of course that is not 100% close. The final point is the weathering. You know, I like to give a 1/24 scale model some weathering, because it geves you much more opportunities than 1/35 scale. The effects you can see on cars and trucks in a real life are varied extremely wide, so there's a full scope to train your skills. As a result of it all - here we got this old, ratty but still sturdy workhorse straight from some construction site or a junkyard. I hope you'll enjoy it. Greetings from Russia!

  4. Turning this into the mixer by using the MIxer kit. What has to be done and in need of the instructions for the mixer. I have some parts broken off and extraparts don't know what they are for. How do I mount it too the frame? Looks like it has 3 frame rails. I know 1 set is for the IH,the other 2 no clue.

  7. The perennial favorite is back. Nice moldings, everything has stayed straight, no warps. GREAT decal sheet though not as big or as much as I had hoped for given other new decal sheets from Round2, but still nice. Aftermarket can fill those extra wants as needed. Tires are Firestone Transports. Two chrome trees, but the tanks are molded in white. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3uvxeBj1m-I
  8. this started out as a Mack DM 600 just added my own twist with the scratch built deck made out of pine strips
  9. Here is the rerelease of the Mack R685ST kit. Looks nice, molds have held up. New wheels look great, clear glass, 280+ parts. GREAT decals in this issue! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MNQqOlG0c-A

  12. Hi Everyone, Last September I took a brief vacation to British Columbia and discovered some nice old trucks along the way, so took some photos / video and made up a youtube video of my finds. Mostly construction / excavation dump trucks, but also spotted an Autocar ! Haven't gotten around to building any trucks lately, but hope to get to a few this year. Hope you enjoy and maybe a little inspiration for a future build, Felix
