So,,I was goin thru some shelf organizing today and ran across this,,A kitbashed Charger Daytona Flat top FC. The "Electra- Charger" Built this a few years ago,,kindof an experiment/bash kit. Used a rooftop from a PU truck kit for the cover over the interior. I think I used testors MF Lime gold for the can spray, hardware store green for the chassis,,and scratch built the front frame work,,and used a modified FC chassis for the back section. Tires+ rims from stash parts box. I always was amazed at the guys who drove these things back when,,no windshield,,must have been wild at 200MPH !

Got this to add to my exotic collection. I always loved the Daytona. It's one of the better looking Ferraris. This kit was a little on the pricey side, but since I got my stimulus I decided to get a few rare kits. I also wanted to go with the coupe to show off the design. For an old Testors kit I have mostly good things to say about it. The kit was actually pretty easy to build and came out great. My only complaint is that it's molded in Red, black, and silver. I found this website after Googling and stumbled upon Shelbytonas thread about the Daytona model he was working on. Unfortunately, his thread or project appears to be unfinished. I'm definitely going to use his photos as references though. I owned two of these cars in real life, both 1988's, both Shelby Z's, both white with maroon interior but one had a blue stripe. Anyways, here's the progress so far: The car: I'm choosing the striped one as my inspiration because I wanted to try painting stripes instead of using decals. This is also the first time I've used an airbrush, which I'm borrowing from my brother, and first time with acrylics. I think the bulk of the painting with airbrush is done, now onto the gluing and brushes.

A Rest & Relaxation build of the Daytona 24 C5 Vette. A quick and delightful build as the body was pre-finished by Revell! Comments are invited.... Regards Brain Kroon
