After a short hiatus, my final build for 2023 is Fujimi's Ferrari F430 Scuderia. I strayed from the box art as I just don't see a Ferrari 'street' car with stripes. Body colour is Zero Paints Ferrari Rosso Rubino over Pink primer and cleared with Mr. Color GX100. The actual car has a fair bit of carbon fibre which I tried to replicate with paint over the rear fascia, grids and vents. The interior is a combination of Semi Gloss Black and a lighter shade of carbon fibre coloured paint. The wheels were painted AK Xtreme Metalizer Gold and coated with multiple applications of Tamiya X-19 Smoke. What I learned: 1. Zero Paint does not like going on wet as it can, and will reactivate the lower layers. In fact, it's so hot it will soften the plastic. It tells you in the instructions to apply 3 or 4 medium coats. This particular colour didn't seem to cover evenly and required a number of extra coats. Due to my impatience I encountered the reactivation thing. :^( 2. I really can't say anything negative about the assembly of this kit. It's probably the best fitting Fujimi kit I've built. Every part went together well including the glass. 3. If you choose to build one yourself, attach the front end of the body to the chassis first and work your way to the back.. easy peasy. Wishing everyone a Happy New Year for '24

Just off of the workbench. This is Fujimi's Ferrari F430 Challenge. She is a hard kit to find. I built it box stock. Below is the link to the build thread. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/121812-ferrari-f430-challenge/

I thought I would share my latest project. This is Fujimi's Ferrari F430 Challenge kit. I fell in love with the livery the moment I saw it. It was not an easy kit to find. It had been out of production when I learned about it. A buddy of mine found it on eBay for me and I hit the "Buy It Now" button immediately...lol. Progress will be slow due to a ridiculous work load at work. I began by working on the body. No complaints on the molding. The entire kit appears to be very well done. I re-scribed all of the panel lines. After shooting the first coat of primer I found a few areas that needed a little more work. Once I was satisfied with the body work, I shot Tamiya gloss black right out of the can. My first attempt left way more orange peel than I am used to. I let the paint cure and I shot several heavier coats right over the top of the previous coats. The paint leveled out nicely, with no runs, but I ended up get a few specks of dust in the paint. I had to polish it out. I will mask off sharp edges to prevent burning through the paint when I polish out the paint.

So i just started another build since the Murcielago is finished. This is a quick and simple build, but that is something Fujimi tends to be like i noticed after doing 2 kits from them so far. Ive spend maybe 2days some hours working on it, and i have already finished all the interior, cage, engine painting, and installed the whole interior and suspension (as little as there is sadly but ow well). All thats left is the body work and to assemble the engine parts... I;m planning osmething out of the ordinary for this F430, as i plan to paint it Tamiya TS31, i plan to do without primer, as ive currently only got the red Tamiya primer, and i didnt like how the seats turned out when using the red primer with the TS31 paint over it. The can shows it to be really bright (which i want obviously) but with the red primer underneath it became to much of a cognac leather color, looks good for the seats afterall, but not how id want the body to be, due to being short on time and money currently id see how it turns out when i just paint over the plastic, the body has just 3 small mold lines to get rid off with sanding and then we will see how it looks. For now here some pics of the work that ive done so far on it: Wheels put together and onto the chassis: Seats painted and put together: Seats and dashboard installed: Cage fully put together and started paint (these are a hell to paint by brush....): Cage with all the painted engine parts: Mockup of all the engine parts assembled: Interior fully assembled with cage now: Thats it for now, more coming soon!

Fujimi Ferrari F430 Spider. I built this car a couple of years back and I was going to say this is one of my favourite Ferrari's but to be honest I love them all
