Scale I Build

  1. Finished this awhile ago, but haven't had the chance to upload it. My dad's been having some medical issues and I've been running around a lot more on my days off. The kit is one I just happened to have pop up in my suggestions on eBay. It looked like a good kit and I wanted a good representation of the car for my collection, so I decided to go ahead and purchase the kit. It was a pretty simple kit, but it looks great........for the most part. There was one flaw that you will see in my pictures. Still it came out looking pretty good. I went with the early version of the car before they started trying to make them look flashy. 2. Hey, everyone!, as I promised a few years ago, I've decided to start working on my fully detailed Pantera build. I was dreading opening the hood, because all the ones I've seen done have less than desired results on the back corners. The thickness of the plastic, along with how tiny, and sharp these corners have to be, makes it VERY difficult to keep it klean. I decided to use my new favorite saws....my Scale Motorsports PE blades. After putting a couple holes in the seam, I was able to start sawing with the Keyhole blade/saw, and then move onto the #11 version to finish off the job!, as you can see, its VERY klean, and sharp. Note; DO NOT use a saw blade on the roofs cross-member seam....it WILL get destroyed!!! its actually so thin, that a fresh #11 will go through it like butter.
  3. Hi folks, some months ago I did this build of the Fujimi DeTomaso Pantera GTS. This is a pretty simple (curbside) kit, but rather new (2012) and well done by Fujimi. The only downside of the kit are the thickish, lense-like glass parts... Here we go, hope you like it.
  4. This is my Testors De Tamaso Pantera GTS. Its a basic, but pretty nice kit......a fun build! The only annoying thing was the fact that the breather holes in the wheels were filled-in.....took a little while to open them up, but it worked perfectly! I got the Pirrelli PZero tyres from a Fujimi Wheels & Tyres set. I cut open the front grilles, and SB The emblem on it.
  5. Hey Guys, I have a How-To for the experts. I bought a '70s Pantera that came without a drive train. I want to build a 427 Ford and trans axle. Has anyone ever done this? It will not be easy, but will make a cool build. Thanks for any help. Ray
  6. Here is a 1:1 that's ALWAYS done it for me...the DeTomaso Pantera! I've lusted after these since I was a kid, and I've been wanting to build a scale version. I realize there is a currently produced Fujimi kit, but this is about the old, out-of-production kits. I picked up a gluebomb Testors (Gunze Sangyo) GTS about 8 or so years ago, but ruined the body by stripping it I recently found a sealed USAirfix (ex-not sure who produced it originally?) kit CHEAP and figured why not, even though the box art had always stopped me before (the front-end looks too long and tapered on the boxtop rendering???) Good news...the kit body ISN'T out of proportion Anyway, I compared it the the Testors body and it almost looks as though they were made by the same company, even though there isn't a Gunze logo anywhere on the sprue (there is a logo on it, but I can't identify the company). Simple curbside kit, low parts count, poseable fronts, ex-motorized chassis. Here's how it looks: And a few mockups with the TESTORS wheels/tires: Anyone that has any other old Pantera kits, please post what's in the box. There seems to have been LOTS of them...Entex, ARII, Nitto, Nichimo, IMAI, Marui, and others???
