Scale I Build

  1. Needing to take a break from the fiddly bits on my 41 pickup build I figured why not start another build, I picked up this corvette kit cheap at the show this past weekend in Columbus. What better way to start it off than by cutting it all up. Kind of going a similar style as my last Mustang build. Cut to make room for some big tires, in this case 19/20 combo from the ZR1 corvette using the cut off flare as the base for the new flares, moving them up and out in the process. Should help keep it looking like a Vette but give it a meaner look and stance. Very early mock-up to see if we are headed in the right direction. I borrowed the front wheels and tires from the 41 to see what it looks like with some wheels under there.
  2. HI! Raiding your stash with a caliper may ascertain all kinds of mash-up possibilities. Case in point? MADLINER - an AMT 60 Starliner, with the Alternomad greenhouse! Chopped (a scale 4 inches) Alternomad top & glasses, scratchbuilt interior panels & rear compartment, Revell's Ferrari Enzo rolling stock, Foose F100 powertrain, inverted hood hinge system, custom exhaust, shaved upper chrome moldings, Metalflake's Candy Cherry over silver base, Testor's Wetlook clear. Fully polished. BMF & Molotow chrome. Wired & hosed. Hours of fun with styrene! CT
  3. Almost complete on this. Still needs some chassis and engine compartment detailing.
  4. Hey ya'll. First time caller, long time listener ha ha. I've been viewing this website now for like, 4 years. Figured it's about time I created an account and posted something. I've learned so much from different members of this group, and I want to say thanks. So here is my current project, 1970 Challenger T/A, pro-touring style, with a 392 Hellcat engine.
  5. My first Tri-Five build. This is the old Revell kit with the crummy molded chassis. I did a lot of mods to this version of a Pro-Touring restomod. Left the body stock - Paint is Duplicolor Graphite top and tail and spear. Front is Duplicolor Gun Metal Gray with Tamiya Clear Red over that. 6-coats of Wet Clear all polished and buffed. Lot's of BMF where chrome needed to be. Hand made custom side mirrors from tear-drop aluminum stock. PE door handles. Completely custom made interior. I used the stock tub, molded in a 1991 C4 Vette dash, center console and door panels. Molded in rear buckets with molded console and C4 front buckets. Made my own suede color mix paint for the interior. Chassis, I built a custom pan and installed the IRS from a C4 rear and front suspension, along with C4 exhaust and custom aluminum tips from tear-drop aluminum stock. Wheels are stock C4 ZR1 wheel I inserted into Pegasus chrome sleeves, I think it gives it a "stock-custom appearance. Engine is C4 ZR1 with custom made dual-horn aluminum cold air intake. hand made radiator. I think I gave this old kit a fresh updated restomod appearance. Before After Build pic chassis Custom pan, exhaust, fuel tank and C4 IRS
