Hi! Lately, I was looking at a wireless home phone that gave up the ghost... and it dawned on me that I could transform it into a snowmobile. Cold season is coming, so... Removed the unwanted parts, threw in spoons for skis, and scratchbuilt the track, suspensions, handlebars, seat, floorboard, bumpers, etc. Tamya brilliant orange + custom mix acrylic for the seat + rubber black for the track and Revell's spray chrome for the rest. Parts box leftover decals. Hours of fun with styrene! CT

Just a simple 4x4 build to cleanse the palate. Box stock plus a distributor. Colors are Testor’s White Lightning/Wet Look clear and Tamiya AS-19 Intermediate Blue/semigloss clear. Grill and bumpers are Alclad High Gloss Aluminum. Thanks for looking. As always, comments, critiques, questions and conversation are welcome.

In the early 1920s, a conversion kit was available to convert the Ford Model T into a snowmobile. The kit cost about as much as the car itself and was sold in the New England area, mostly to postal workers, doctors, firemen, etc., people that had to get out when the weather was bad. I was interested in making a model of these machines a few years ago. I started with an AMT Model T but the project stalled soon after starting as I had no way to make the tracks. Recently, I got into CAD design and 3D printing, so this project became feasible. I acquired a ICM Model T Roadster, which was a better kit, but of an older Model T. The build thread is here: Photographing this model was difficult due to it being gloss black with white tires and silver tracks. The camera just doesn't have the latitude, but here are the pictures. I hope you find this as interesting a subject as I do. Thanks for looking in.
