Hi! Many gifted illustrators/designers have penned "station wagon" based on the 67/70 Eldorado. But most were of the typical side-glass variety... I found a complete Johan 70 Eldo kit... But the body was severely twisted, and most fellow modelers advised to pass. Still, I felt I could do a stylish curbside out of it. So... The body was realigned under hot water and steam, with heavy styrene sheet (.60) used for a floor, firewall, multiple bulkheads and various structural reinforcements. An AMT 66 Riviera front roof section, with windshield posts, was grafted to the rear half of the Eldo roof, in turn pushed backward, and turned into a hatch. C-pillar solid panels were superglued in place, and a complete interior, save for the dash and bucket seats, was scratchbuilt. Revell,s Ferrari California cabrio rolling stock was modified for use here. Tamya's and Smartcraft's paints complete the deal. I like to think that famous GM design VP Bill Mitchell might have liked it. What do you think? Hours of fun with styrene! CT
