Darrell Gwinn Posted February 15, 2008 Posted February 15, 2008 Well I had built one of these when I first started building and i just left it the yellow it was molded in and it turned out..ok for how old i was, but it has been torn down and thrown into the parts box. I liked the car so i had to build a better one to take its place. So I had the newish Motorworks 69 Z/28 which is the same kit but with cheesy graphics, twin turbos, and what not and it was going to be my new Rampage. then i came across a little Micro Machines Camaro I had and what do you know, its a miniature Rampage! Except it was white, and personally I think the white looks better than the yellow, so I painted mine white. I have yet to clear the body and finish up everything else, but thats my story of this camaro.
Darrell Gwinn Posted February 15, 2008 Author Posted February 15, 2008 Oh and is it just me or are these Camaros proportioned funny? They seem kind of fat in ways...lol
Modellpularn Posted February 15, 2008 Posted February 15, 2008 Ohhh Yes, that Monogram Camaro is proportioned funny!!! The ones to get are anyone of the Revell Camaros; Z/28, Baldwin Motion, or Yenko. Doesn't matter which one you pick, the body is perfect, and the rest of the parts are just as good.
Darrell Gwinn Posted February 15, 2008 Author Posted February 15, 2008 Ha, yea I have the revell z/28 and baldwin motion but i guess i never compared them to this one before. Oh well, it just adds to the model car-ness of it... if that makes any sense.
Olle F Posted February 15, 2008 Posted February 15, 2008 Yeah, that kit is out of proportion... kind of an "artist's rendition of a '69 Camaro". But I must say you did a good job on this model, seems like the graphics and the stance actually hide the design flaws in the kit. Looks good to me, but as Modellpularn said: Revell's kit is a safer bet.
Darrell Gwinn Posted February 15, 2008 Author Posted February 15, 2008 Ha, yea well I may have to get another Revell kit and make a more realistic version of this car as well just for the heck of it
Robert81 Posted February 15, 2008 Posted February 15, 2008 Don't worry about how "accurate" the model is. For you, this was a nostalgic build. The revell kit is much better, but this was to bring back a little piece of your childhood. This build looks great, those old Micro-Machines always looked funny.
Don B Posted February 15, 2008 Posted February 15, 2008 Wow, That really does look great. Very good job on a very out of proportion kit.
Darrell Gwinn Posted February 15, 2008 Author Posted February 15, 2008 Wow, That really does look great. Very good job on a very out of proportion kit. Hey thanks! I wish I could finish it up, but it along with all my other projects are on hold till it warms up so i can paint!
