95Blaster Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 (edited) Hello everybody! I am an ameteur modeler, but I do thoroughly enjoy the hobby. This is the 1957 Chevrolet Bel-Air Pro-Street Rod I am working on from the Revell Streetburner Series. I have airbrushed it purple, and this is what I have accomplished thus far : What do you guys think? Edited February 16, 2008 by 95Blaster
Clay Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 I don;'t know what to think, because all I see is the dreaded red X, and no its not your fault, these government computers block photobucket so I cant even see my own posts. But I am sure that it will be an awesome build for you.
95Blaster Posted February 16, 2008 Author Posted February 16, 2008 So is this a problem for just you or everyone? Please let me know ASAP so I can fix. A picture thread isn't worth looking at without pictures, now, is it?!
cruzn Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 Looks good . I Like the color.. I can see the pics .. One suggestion use a Neutral background for Pic taking. Grey or a Light color..

A picture thread isn't worth looking at without pictures, now, is it?! No its me, as I noted in the earlier post the Government network has photobucket.com blocked so I cant see the pictures if they are downloaded onto photo bucket, If yours arent then there is another site that the government has blocked
95Blaster Posted February 16, 2008 Author Posted February 16, 2008 Oh I am sorry to hear that. But I will say this, it isn't much to look at. The interior and tubeframe are joined, as well as the motor mounted. The motor is a Chevrolet Bog Block 598 dual carbureted, 1100 horespower producing beast. It has the most chrome I have ever seen on a model, and the shiny Moroso valve covers add to the "tricked out" look. However, other than the blower cowling on the hood, there is no air filtration. I weathered one of the tires with sand paper and plan to do the rest. Thw whole car isn't much more than a bunch of tubeframes, so it is not extremely hard to assemble, due to the total simplicity of the entire car. It has nitrous injection and some cool flame decals I plan on applying. These are a few of the many plans I have for this model.
marinewifejones Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 looks good so far. And of course I love the color. If you can get your hands on House of Kolor paint for models (i know the walmarts out in Cali used to sell them not sure where else you would get them) they have a purple candy coat that would look AWSOME over that
95Blaster Posted February 16, 2008 Author Posted February 16, 2008 I wish I could find some, I live in Kentucky, and I have never seen anything like that before. I am surprised you guys like it, seeing as most other modelers do a much better job. I have a question though. Where could I find some flakes to put in my paint that would be thin enough to run through an airbrush (Testors Mighty Mini) and look nice on a model?
m408 Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 Very nice. Try googling House of color. Will take you to on line sites that you can order from.
Don B Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 Great looking 57. Go to evilbay look for this seller, tcpglobal-autobodydepot. He has three sizes of flakes in many colors as well as House Of Kolors Paint. Most of his stuff is Buy It Now so you don't have for the auction to end in a week. He also carries airbrushs and supplies. Hope this helps.
95Blaster Posted February 16, 2008 Author Posted February 16, 2008 Wow guys, I thank you guys fir the many helpful comments, and I will check out the afformentioned sites asap.
outlaw035 Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 looks good blaster like the color also....neal.....ps street rods are pre 48
Clay Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 I am surprised you guys like it, seeing as most other modelers do a much better job. You will get no negative critizism here, not everyone can go into detail like Bill or Raul. so keep up the good work.
marinewifejones Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 one thing we did find with the House of Kolor pain it that you cant do it on a high humidity day like you can the Testors. So if you do you painting outside you will want to wait for low humidity
ajulia Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 Hello there friend! Clean lookin build-up you got there fella! The color pops right at ya! Also been looking for those valve covers for sometime thanks for mentioning there in this kit' Keep on wit the keepin on!!! peace ajulia

95Blaster Posted February 18, 2008 Author Posted February 18, 2008 Ok, little update. I got some of the decals applied, and most of the parts to be installed are painted. Rear end also is nearly done, just finishing it up.
