I did the same conversion a few months ago when I did a roof swap with the '50 Olds. I think there's already a couple of casters offering this same body.

I've only seen the Sedan offered. I started this job on request of a client who couldn't find a Sport coupe anywhere from anybody.

The roof on the '50 Olds kit is a sedan, the coupe roof and quarter windows are different, so just swapping out the roof will give you a sedan, not a coupe.

Say what you will. Everyone's an expert. The client I'm building this for is a car collector who owns just about every example of a 1950 and 1951 Chevy built. He's satisfied this will look just like his Business coupe when finished. I'm satisfied and so are about 2 dozen other people who want one. The Sedan has a longer roof and a shorter trunk. Google the images and see for yourself.

As i understand it the Business Coupe differ from the Sport Coupe as it dont have a rear seat and crank on rear windows.

Also the Business Coupe has raised platform behind the front seats to give flat floor for loading cargo. No driveshaft hump.

The quarter windows and roof are correct on this.

1950-Oldsmobile-76-Club-Coupe-Club-Sedan

Since this about '51 Chevys, why did you post pictures of Oldsmobiles?

What Oldsmobile calls the Club Sedan is referred to as a Fleetline in the Chevy world. I always thought that was obvious.

First picture is of the '51 Chevy Business Coupe/Sport Coupe. Yes, a Sport Coupe has more options, a Business Coupe is a stripper.

The bottom picture of a '51 Chevy Sedan. If you can't notice the differences, there's nothing I can do to help you.

Somebody produces the sedan in resin. Not sure who, but my customer has one.

Thanks for the picture. That's actually a big help.

Thanks,

The Revell Olds kit is a coupe...the 2dr sedan has a longer roof and longer quarter windows. What confuses the issues is that Revell included decals for a race car that was actually a sedan.

MCW makes a '51 Chevy coupe, Mason City Resin (formerly Resin Realm) makes/made the sedan. I have one.

Looks much like my results back in November of 2012, swapping the rear section of the Olds roof / upper body on to the forward section of the Chebby.

Very nice, Sam.

Are you planning to be selling at Desert Scale Classic in Phoenix on April 11?

No, but I wish I was. Realistically, I don't have enough inventory to do a show at this point. I probably won't be really up and running for another 6 months. I'd much rather make masters than cast, but sooner or later I'll have to start casting.

That's really clean workmanship.

Here's some photos of built MCW '51 Chevy coupes.

He also has one with a separate lift off front end. http://www.mcwautomotivefinishes.com/resin/3rd51chevgasser.jpg

I don't know how long they've been available. It's quite possible that they weren't when your client was looking for one.

Beautiful work. I have the Bel Air convertible, would it be possible to do this with that kit or do I need the full roof version fleetline like you used?

Available soon-- 1951 Chevy Business Coupe, sometimes referred to as a Sport Coupe. For use with AMT '51 Chevy hardtop kit.

I have a 1951 chevy coupe with all the trim. Would you please send me a quote for the body shown on the internet to be used with the amt kit. Bruce
