sclqa Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 I am completely scratch building an obscure military vechicle that is Corvair powered. It is the Canadair CL-91/Army XM-571 Dynatrack articulated personnel carrier. All I have is the Corvair Engine and a lot of Photos and drawings. I will also need some flat plate (plastic like from a large tank (but this one will be 1/25. It is small - 1 bout 8 ft long full size. I know the a lot of tanks are don in 1/35 scale and this would make the vechicle 2- 2.5" long (?) hence the larger 1/25 scale. Any help will be appreciated Thanks Stan Light scl@sclqa.com
LDO Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 You can get "flat plate" as sheet styrene made by Evergreen. As far as tracks and road wheels are concerned, I doubt any production 1/25 tank kits will look anything like what you need. Very few tanks shared tracks/road wheels with other vehicles. I have an unbuilt Tiger tank in 1/25, but it would make your project the tracked equivalent of Bigfoot. The Tiger weighed about 60 tons, IIRC.
dptydawg Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 looking at pictures of the Canadair CL-91 I would suggest using tracks from a small 1/35th scale or maybe a large 1/48th scale tank. they should be close to what you need in 1/25th scale. carl
