Well its only February and I've almost finished my second car of 2008, which is pretty good for me. This one is a 34 Ford Coupe, the old AMT/ERTL kit. It all box stock, the only thing I may change is wheels. The exterior color is Model Masters rattle can Honduras Maroon, the interior is also Model Masters but Phoenician Yellow.

It went together fairly easy, the only issues I had was fitting the glass into the car and fitting the body to the fenders.

Now all I need to do to finish is choose wheels, which I'm hoping you guys can help with, and choose an air cleaner. I'm wanting an older traditional streetrod look, like something your grandfather would have driven/seen in the late 70's to late 80's.

These are the stock wheels the kit came with,

And these are some wheels I found from an old Chevy truck kit,

You can also see the picture box I created in the background pretty much for free. Just a box, some thin sheets of styrofoam and some white wrapping paper. I'm glad I finally did this, it really makes pictures look nicer. Now I just need a nicer camera!

let me know what you think,

Jason,

Jason,

Hey Jason,

I'm a grandpa and would never have had spokes on my street coupe. Leave em solid or in paint.

Hey guys, thanks for the input and kind words. I think you guys have verified the baby moons are the way to go.

Drew, the camera I am using is an older Sony Cybershot DSC U-30, its the super small 2.0 megapixel one. It might be I just dont have the settings right for indoor pictures, I'm really not sure.

first set of wheels with the body color around the baby moons. Testors sells their laquer in jars. Thin it a bit and flow it around the baby moons. It may take a couple of coats to get the depth of color, but it will be worth it. I think that the problem with getting good pics of the second set is that they are either BBS style or wire wheels. There are so manyreflections, that the camera's resolution and flash create problems. See if you can shoot the wheels on a sunny day on a covered porch or a cloudy day. This will minimize the reflections and help with the pic.

Oh yeah, a

wash of either thinned black paint or india ink would help the second set of rims .

Drew, no offense taken, I was just implying about the glare off the wire/bbs wheels.

Ken,

I'm applying some thinned black paint and seeing if that makes them look better, I'll post pics later.
