Just received the Mack DM600 kit and, unless I'm missing something, the engine does not seem to have an air compressor.

How would the air compressor be mounted on the kit engine (as well as an A/C compressor?)

Thanks

As far as I know, part #290, right side of engine block, is the air compressor. If I'm wrong I'm sure I'll be corrected. Not sure about the A/C, however keep in mind the DM had a roof mounted unit, it was not integral with the heater if that makes a difference

You're correct. Looking closely the air compressor is part of #290. I assumed it would be on the belt assembly somewhere.

The engine in the DM 600 is an ENDT 673 225HP, the engine in AMT R 600 is an ENDT 675 237 HP, it's not the same motor.

BTW, your "arrows" are not pointing to the air compressor, the air compressor is lower and towards the rear of the block just above the oil pan

I'm trying to find out when mack stopped painting econodyne engines green and went to grey. A early dm could be green but have yet to confirm.the box art is mislabelled calling the engine a maxidyne.maxidyne's are gold...well the ones that are available in models any ways

The DM kit engine is actually a late version Thermodyne. You're right Kevin, it is mislabeled
