Slot car drag racing has caught on here in my area over the last few years, so I thought I'd share a few of our cars.

Forgive me, I'm not a great model builder. :P

We have really started doing "no-bar" cars, which basically means no wheelie bars at all.

Bandit resin 79 Malibu (About to get blowed apart and converted to an 80)

Original Johan SC/Rambler kit

74 Impala Promo

55 Post and TLB 55 replica we had built by a good friend

This habit is too damned expensive! I've got two boxes full of them and am now building a 55' 150 model of our real car and a 91 modelhaus caprice wagon. Sheesh!

Thanks for looking!

Dang, that looks like a blast. Slot cars go too fast and look like insects more than cars ... but dragsters seem like they replicate the real thing. Without the wheelie bars, I bet, makes it interesting piloting them. You use 'chutes?

Maybe someday empty shopping malls will make pretty cool miniature salt flats ...

The 55 looks great, as does the scrambler.

Thanks for the compliments!

Yes, having no wheelie bars is a challenge finding ways to add weight. A lot of guys instead use a controller that will make the car leave soft. As for parachutes, there are plenty out that have resin copies on them but aren't functional. I have seen a few pictures of them in the 60's that were functional, but we go 35-42 mph in 27.5 feet now I think getting a parachute to stop it would just look unproportional. We do use a very thick glue though that stops them in a few feet.
