426-Hemi Posted May 30, 2015 Author Posted May 30, 2015 Thanks guys! Like I said, I never was a big fan of the "300" it was something to do tho as a kit and a bit of research (I never worked on a real one) BUT the model, grew on me as I was building it..... Then you have that 392 Hemi it came with originally..... I seen pictures of the Drag racing twin-turbo'd thing I posted from Hot Rod magazine that I wanted to shoe-horn into something... BUT I just couldn't bring myself to do it to a muscle car, (era wasn't right for the 392 to me) BUT then I seen that this '57 300 had a 392 and that my friends was the GO light on doing that turbo set up, and while I did that, I did the tutorial for it as well! I tell you all, I ENJOY engine building, (you can't tell by any means) BUT I got to say, I enjoyed building the whole car (I used to HATE interior work) but now, I enjoy it a bit more as I'm incorporating "extra" details into it..... With all that, made this car "grow" on me!
426-Hemi Posted May 31, 2015 Author Posted May 31, 2015 Thanks Mike! I posted the completed model but never in depth to the build of it...... SO, I thought to show how it was all done! Much appreciated on the compliments to the build! Thank you!
DrKerry Posted May 31, 2015 Posted May 31, 2015 Very kool build, plenty of giddy up and go in there now!!!!
426-Hemi Posted June 1, 2015 Author Posted June 1, 2015 Sure is Kerry! I loved that Hot rodded "392 Hemi" as a drag race engine that looks good in this build, I just "HAD" to figure out a way to use a model of that engine, and this was that "way"..... Thanks for the compliments! I appreciate it!
DrKerry Posted June 1, 2015 Posted June 1, 2015 I always liked the 392 myself.... Kool to see how you pulled it off. Great build!!!!
426-Hemi Posted June 1, 2015 Author Posted June 1, 2015 (edited) -Thanks man! Much appreciated! I favor the 426, BUT the 392 is a very close second..... just due to its age and nostalgia..... Edited December 11, 2016 by 426-Hemi Typing errors
DrKerry Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 just due to its age and nostalgia..... Reason why I like the 392 more!!!!!
426-Hemi Posted June 5, 2015 Author Posted June 5, 2015 Yeah the 392 was a GREAT engine for its time..... I LOVE all the different intake types thats available for them..... just something.................different!
gman Posted January 11 Posted January 11 I agree, great job. Not to mention, this build thread is hoppin'... I know- low hanging fruit 😆. I wonder if your rabbit will take pride in contributing to your build. My condolences on the loss of your family members.
NOBLNG Posted January 11 Posted January 11 Unfortunately John the builder hasn’t been on here since 2017. Too bad because this is an awesome creation! I hope he is well.😎
Straightliner59 Posted January 11 Posted January 11 The turbos look awesome, and this is a great reference for building some. I agree with Greg--hope the guy's okay.
