Geno Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 My current project. Should be done in a couple of weeks. 1/24 scale. made of all scrap material other than the doors and windows which are from Grandt Line. I even made the Coke Machine from scrap aluminum.
gasser59 Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 Wow Gene. That is really sharp looking. I like the building's front facade. What are your plans for the finish on the exterior walls?
cobraman Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 You scratch built that Coke machine ???? Very impressive.
Sixties Sam Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 Looks great so far! Are those walls made of cork? Sam
wayne swayze Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 I like the look. Seems well thought out, and the windows and doors from Grandt Line look excellent.
Badluck 13 Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 I love the coke machine,I actually have a real one just like it...well not just because mine needs restored yet, where did you or how did you do the graphics on it?
Geno Posted June 18, 2015 Author Posted June 18, 2015 Thanks all for the kind words. This has been an extremely fun and relaxing project. The whole building is made from 5/16" maple dieboard. Brad, the exterior is painted with Rustoleum Sienna Stone paint to simulate Stucco. The Coke machine I machined out of aluminum, painted and BMF the chrome strip around it. The front is a laser printed decal.
AzTom Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 Very nice! I really like the vintage look. I've been sketching one similar but a little larger for an old Ford garage.
charlie8575 Posted July 5, 2015 Posted July 5, 2015 Very nice work on this. The look is perfect. Charlie Larkin
misterNNL Posted September 16, 2015 Posted September 16, 2015 Nice work!Do have any WIP photos of that most excellent Coke machine under construction? If so please post them as inspiration for us mere mortals modelers. Thanks for sharing your talent and vision.
