Harry Joy Posted July 18, 2015 Posted July 18, 2015 Does anyone know a good match for the mustard yellow color "Sungold" on the 1953 Bel Air? Or a good mixing formula to get there with Tamiya paints? Thanks!
Crazy Ed Posted July 19, 2015 Posted July 19, 2015 Harry, You might want to check out Scale Finishes's #508, it's 1953 Chevy Sungold. That ought to workÂ
Harry Joy Posted July 19, 2015 Author Posted July 19, 2015 Thanks Ed. I saw it available from MCW as well after posting this. I still wonder if anyone knows a paint formula from Tamiya that might match. I started using Tamiya so I wouldn't have to worry about ordering specific colors all the time, but my mixing experiments never seem to work unless I am working from a known formula.
chunkypeanutbutter Posted July 19, 2015 Posted July 19, 2015 You can get a spray-can mixed up at a local auto store. I know Napa and Parts Plus do this service, as well as most CarQuest stores.http://paintref.com/cgi-bin/colorcodedisplay.cgi?type=paint&paint=4238&ditzler=80612&smodel=Chevrolet&syear=1953&smanuf=GM&sname=Sungold
