massplastic Posted March 8, 2008 Posted March 8, 2008 (edited) I'm working on a PT Crusier that will be flat black. I want to go with a "leather-looking" interior but I'm afraid that the doors and dash areas will look out of place if it's all the leather look. Any ideas on dash, door and seat color? On a side note, What's the best way to remove chrome from plastic? (wheels) Edited March 8, 2008 by massplastic
envious8420 Posted March 8, 2008 Posted March 8, 2008 use a matte black(more gloss than flat) for the leather. wouldnt be a huge contrast but there would be a difference. could mix flat and gloss to get it.
marinewifejones Posted March 8, 2008 Posted March 8, 2008 you could do like a gray leather if you want more of a color contrast
envious8420 Posted March 8, 2008 Posted March 8, 2008 side note- tooth brush and cleanser(comet, ajax, etc) a soak in caustic oven cleaner a soak in your favorite brand of brake fluid not brake cleaner
Clay Posted March 8, 2008 Posted March 8, 2008 On a side note, What's the best way to remove chrome from plastic? (wheels) Go to Wal-Mart, and in the automotive section there is a Purple 5 gallon jug, It says Super clean, works awesome, I have still yet to remove the body that is soaking in it.
walt francis Posted March 8, 2008 Posted March 8, 2008 (edited) To stip chrome just use easy-off oven cleaner and soak them in it for a little while then take them out scrub with a tooth brush and rinse with water...Note !!!!!!(wear rubber gloves) I did the bumper and wheels on the kit to make satin black from flat black try ear wax rub it on and buff it or the oil from the side of your nose, sound funny but it works Edited March 8, 2008 by walt francis
