riverart Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 This is my recently finished Tamiya Bug. It's supposed to be a candy though it's hard to tell. The kit was excellent which shows my mediocre skills at building. However, I like it just the same.
Crazy Ed Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 Lookin' Good. As a rule I'm not a fan of Gold Wheels, but they work with that build. For what it's worth, you might try and reshoot angles 1, 2 and 4 with the light angle you shot 3. Except for the Bumper showed the best detail to me.
Eric N. Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 I think the stance is perfect! What mods did you do to the front beam? Looks good! Eric
Harry P. Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 Check what's keeping the rear hood from closing. Air cleaner sticking out too far?
riverart Posted September 15, 2015 Author Posted September 15, 2015 Thank you for the comments. I cheated on the front axle - but the rear I bent so that it would actually work.
ddk Posted September 15, 2015 Posted September 15, 2015 Good stance ;-) Look my facebook page for VW enthousiast modelershttps://www.facebook.com/groups/973509409331692/
PatW Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 Looks really good! Super body colour and gold spokes on the EMPI rims!
Zarana-X Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 Nice paint work. Does the kit come with mudflaps? I can't remember.
Davewilly Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 sweet Bug! love the color and stance on it
Snake45 Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 Check what's keeping the rear hood from closing. Air cleaner sticking out too far? I remember back in the day seeing Bugs with the hood sticking up like that--sort of a "super scoop." I think there was a kit available to do that. Nice model, BTW!
Atmobil Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 Sweet loking bug, I love it!! I really like the pictures out in the sunshine, it makes the color pop. Are the wheels from the Polar Lights bug?
riverart Posted September 19, 2015 Author Posted September 19, 2015 Thanks all for the comments. My models don't typically get responses. Automobile, not sure where they came from as my good buddy gave them to me. He also provided the front tires which are from a lowrider set and I had the rear tires from parts box.
Greg Pugh Posted November 20, 2015 Posted November 20, 2015 Would you mind asking your buddy where he got the Empi's? I'd love to find a set. Also, it's pretty common for the deck lid to be open at the top like that. It helps cool the engine. It's called a stand-off kit and they're readily available. Excellent job on this! I love the overall look!
