 O.K.guys. I have gotten the message. I'm gonna quit using a closet in my den for a spray booth. ;) Gonna use my tax rebate for a good cause. PAINT BOOTH !!! Now heres the deal. I do my building in a second bedroom/den in my townhouse. I have a place to store the booth and supplies on a roll around stand in a closet. My plan is to move the cart/booth out of storage when I want to paint and move it next to a window to exhaust. No problem hooking up dryer hose etc... but, I have just installed new hardwood floor in the den/work shop and don't want to mess it up with over spray. Your best recommendations as to booth manufacturer and model. My main concern is exhaust draw capabilities, and of course cost.

All recommendations will be appreciated.

Milt,

I recommend Pace Paint Booths. I purchased the Peacekeeper Deluxe in early 2007. Best $400 I've spent on my hobby. It's pretty big and might not work with your closet but you could look at the other models. I like the big one because it has the largest fan and the shelf on the front is great for setting paint cans and other stuff on while you work. The biggest selling point for me is that Pace uses common pleated household air filters that you can purchase for cheap almost anywhere. Try purchasing the special filter materials that Paasche, Badger, and the others use at Wal-Mart or your local hardware store.

There is an email address on the website, but the best way to contact Bob Pace with questions or to order is via the toll free phone number. Bob is a super nice guy that knows his stuff.

Hope this helps.

:D Good advice from Mark!!Pace makes a great booth...I have a micromark downdraft booth and I love it! The downside is I go through a lot of expensive filters...it takes 3 about $20. a pop. 1st stage I use 1 or 2 a month, The 2nd/3rd stage lasts 6 to 8 months I shoot lacquers. Hope this helps!

Hi Mike, thanks for the input.

Looks like you have a similar situation. Work shop in a living area with a floor that needs to be protected. I see the exhaust going towards the floor and a fan next to the window. Can you show or explain the whole set up? I also understand that Pace booths will accept standard pleated filters. ?

 Just got off of the phone with Bob Pace. Ordered the Peace Keeper minimini. Sheeesh, now I guess I'm going to have to learn how to use the paasche air brush set that my kids got me for my "B" day.

Good for you! I bought a Pace with my tax return and I couldn't be happier. It's the lowest priced model, but I've not a single complaint.

I ordered the mid line, "minimini". Should be here within a week. I've got kind of a unique situation. My "workshop" is in a second bedroom in my town house, new laminate floor etc... I've got my desk, PC, bookshelves etc.. plus a 7' work bench for building. Also a full width closet. Anyhow to get to the point, I ordered the "minimini" which is 24x18x18. I found a kitchen cart at Target which is 24x18x34" high. Has a slide out drawer, and an adjustable shelve behind two doors. Seems perfect. I can install my air brush compressor on the bottom shelve, rattle cans on the other shelf, and air brush stuff in the drawer, and when not in use, store it in the closet. Now I'm gonna have to learn to paint. :(
