i don't think about the laws for the vehicles and think that way Rob:

would i drive offroad, thru the outback without windshield on dusty tracks? without lights in the dark? without rollcage or helmet? without 4WD? No.

:P

A poll would be fine.

I was going to do a poll but looking at the posts it seems like the Outback run would be the overall winner. So if it's good with everyone then shall we call it and do the Assuieball  Australian Outback theme for next years theme?

Of course if you guys still want a poll I'll put one up, either way is fine with me. It's my first year handling this so I want to make sure everyone feels like they got a fair shake on deciding the theme and throughout the build next year. :)

I for one am definently okay with it the Outback run. I really like the challenges it presents, had my entry picked out the moment the idea was suggested and Rays additions to it just made it all the more appetizing to me.

v Maybe, I don't know, at any rate typo lol.

One of the long standing rules (at least when I ran the CBP) was that the car must "appear street legal". Read into that whatever you want.

I was more wondering about street legal tires since it would be off road and on road ,or a buggy that wouldn't have a windshield. And would it have to have plates and quiet exhaust .

Will there be an actual route established? Would be cool to see how much we plan for dirt, hardtop, and actual four wheeling! All considerations for me on how aggressive each element of the car will be built.

Rob is right - Google some vintage baja stuff! Way cool!

That's correct Jonathan!

As I stated before, the red route is the current rail line from Adelaide to Darwin and the main highway runs pretty much parallel with this. The only exception is If you draw a line from Pimba to Coober Pedy then onto Alice Springs that is where the main highway runs along.

The old Ghan route in yellow is a well used track I might add with many outback tourists tackling the old route;)

Cool, it definitely sounds like a fun route.
