95neon Posted December 25, 2015 Posted December 25, 2015 My brother gave me the latest release of monogram's '71 GTX/Satellite for Christmas this morning and I didn't waste any time getting to work... body is painted with Rust-Oleum paint, interior and other bits are done in Dupli-Color black primer, gives a nice texture for interiors. Grill is already detailed, most parts are painted, now it's time to start gluing The extra 340 in the background is going in a Chally T/A or AAR 'cuda. Merry Christmas everybody!
louie Posted December 25, 2015 Posted December 25, 2015 Merry Christmas to you too. Seems like you're having a pretty good Xmas. You've got a good brother with good taste. I've always liked this kit. Like any other kit ,a little bit of work and you will have a masterpiece. Keep up the good work. Thank you. Jeff
95neon Posted December 27, 2015 Author Posted December 27, 2015 Thanks for the comments Jeff the 440 is just about complete for my GTX Seats are glued together, did some wood grain inside Now it's time to start foiling
louie Posted December 27, 2015 Posted December 27, 2015 Nice job on the engine and console and that dash is magnificent. Wow you picked out the details on the dashboard perfect. I am no spring chicken and have only been back to the Hobby for a couple of years but looking at what your doing I have to say to myself that I "stink" compared to what I see on this page. I guess I just have to laugh at myself and keep trying to improve my skills. I apologize for rambling it's just I see how good your dash, console and engine are looking and then I look at my stuff and Well not to good. On the upside this is how I learn to be a better modeler by looking, watching and reading posts like this one. 95neon thanks for sharing this one and if you can please keep us posted on this one. Thank you. Jeff
95neon Posted December 28, 2015 Author Posted December 28, 2015 thanks for the comments Jeff! That really makes me feel good to hear that from a fellow modeler. The dash and console were not that hard, I just used brown acrylic craft paint and a silver gel pen from the dollar store. I'm glad you like my WIP! so the GTX is almost wrapped up, I'm having some real problems getting the front end to stick together but it's looking ok for now... my camera doesn't really capture the true color of the car...oh well... foiling is done and next I'll get the spoiler on... Sorry for the poor pics, my desk light isn't up to the task
