fanofratfink Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 Hello all A quick question about AMTs 1957 Chevy (car) releases. Did AMT ever include the original 3 in 1 extra/custom parts after the "Pepper Shaker" release in 1973? I remember(?) another 70s release that had the artwork of the car in blue with a green background. Did this contain the 3in 1 build parts? Thanks for any responces Randy
sdrodder Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 are you talking about the origional 60s parts like he fender skirts custom front end and rear end parts like in the 50 ford? Well if you are no after the peper shaker or even for the peper shacker they took them out. All the parts that are still in the kit today are the origional parts though. For the custom rear and front treatments i have a website save somewere were they sell them both new in resin and the parts for the 57 ford to. Let me try and find it.

I think your talking about some of the" Stylene" parts. You could build it (1)stock,(2) hotrod/race or (3)customize it. The fourth option was the stylene parts which included the parts you mentioned. There was even a chopped roof.I havent bought any new releases in a long time so I wasnt sure the 3 options were in there.
sdrodder Posted March 26, 2008 Posted March 26, 2008 all is there exept the chopped roof the stylen part even though in the 57 ford are still the 2 quad lights. All that changes are the rims.
fanofratfink Posted March 26, 2008 Author Posted March 26, 2008 Thanks Everyone my questions are answered. It was just something running around my head. I'm building a 1973 version of the "Pepper Shaker" right now and just love the custom parts in the kit. Bluesman Mark: gotta ove the stones saw them here in Omaha a couple of years ago. Still the best Randy
fanofratfink Posted March 26, 2008 Author Posted March 26, 2008 I do love the Stones, but I'm an even bigger Buddy Guy fan. That's who's jamming on guitar with them in my avatar. You're in Omaha? That's cool, as I'm in Shenandoah Iowa, about an hour from there & do all my hobby shopping in Omaha. In fact I was at the Omaha contest/swapmeet last month. Do you hang around such "disreputable" people as Bob Black? Or go by Tony's Toys & Collectibles at Crossroads Mall? Tony's a good guy too, (like Bob is), & is who my wonderful wife got the original issue 57 Chevy & Ford kits from for me last Christmas, that I mentioned in my prior post. Yes I do know Bob Black and Tony and Scott from Tonys. Disreptuble as they get!! Just kidding:) They are all great guys. . I helped vend at the Omaha show. Had a few models in the contest also Randy
sdrodder Posted March 27, 2008 Posted March 27, 2008 thanks for the info also. That was the site. I came to the 57 ford on acident because i have both with stylized parts in my shelf.
fanofratfink Posted March 27, 2008 Author Posted March 27, 2008 You're very welcome & I can understand getting the two mixed up due to their being the same year & with all the extra parts in them. I plan to scan the instructions & box art from my original 57 Chevy kit & send the scans to Bob for the site soon, so they can be referenced as well. Wouldn't it be great if the people running AMT/MPC/PL now could restore all of that great tooling to those two kits? Lets keep are fingers crossed Randy
sdrodder Posted March 27, 2008 Posted March 27, 2008 yeah it would be nice. We then could realy build sick customs with all the extra parts left over from the build.
Nick F40 Posted May 18, 2008 Posted May 18, 2008 does that supercharger have webers on it?? I never seen something like that before.
The Modeling Hermit Posted May 18, 2008 Posted May 18, 2008 I do wish that they'd place these items back in the kits. That's what made them fun. I'm sure that over the years, that they've probably lost all of the molds for them though.
