Matt T. Posted August 2, 2006 Posted August 2, 2006 With the heat and hum-ditty here lately, I've been avoiding paint work. Been hackin' on these two pickups though. The '50 Ford uses the Reps & Mins chopped cab (master by Lyle) and smoothed hood and is channeled and sectioned all over. Channeled 4in, bed shortened 10in, rear fenders shortened 3in and moved back... The '34 is channeled and sectioned in the cab, bed channeled to the rails. I still have to chop it 4in... Thanks for lQQkin'. Stay cool!
Mj-Styro Posted August 2, 2006 Posted August 2, 2006 '50 Ford pickup gets my vote! thats gona be stunning when done!!!!
Marc @ MPC Motorsports Posted August 2, 2006 Posted August 2, 2006 Matt, you absolutely nailed the look on that '50 :!: 8) I hope you are going modern with the rolling stock and other details. It's just begging for it :!:
Andy Wyatt Posted August 2, 2006 Posted August 2, 2006 Keep us posted on these! What color ya thinking for the '50? Wheels? Can't wait to see it progress!
Matt T. Posted August 3, 2006 Author Posted August 3, 2006 Thanks guys! Marc, I prefer a '50s/early '60s look, so the "Little '50" will have whitewalls and steelies or full wheelcovers, most likely. Andy, color plan is Tamiya Lt. Pearl Green with a black shop logo script on the doors.

But by chance if this one gets parked on the "to do" lot and does not get any further attention, you know where to send it. MPC Motorsports would love to get its hands on this one.
mrglubaum Posted August 3, 2006 Posted August 3, 2006 Matt, The '50 looks perfect! I'll be watching the progress on that one! The '34 is off to a good start, but I'm thinking that if you chop the top, you may want to consider shortening the bed. Just an idea, and my own opinion. And I'm not always right!
Matt T. Posted August 3, 2006 Author Posted August 3, 2006 Lee - you're right. I just "photo-chopped" that image on my PC and the shorter bed is better. And Tom's pics prove it! Tom - thanks for those! I was planning the same wheelcovers too - Fiestas. I have a can of Pactra RC car "Grape Pearl" reserved for the '34...
MikeBoyle Posted August 4, 2006 Posted August 4, 2006 Don't chop the 34! I think it looks killer with the channel and section but keeping the stock roof height! If you do chop the top I guess I will be forced to build the one in my collection channeled, sectioned and unchopped!
Lyle Willits Posted August 5, 2006 Posted August 5, 2006 Matt - those are killer! Can't wait to see more progress.
