crazyjim Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 I built a Moebius 1961 Pontiac Ventura for an IPMS review. Very nice nice kit that's finished in Duplicolor bahama blue.
cobraman Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 Great looking car. Love the interior and the color.
TarheelRick Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 Really nice build, super clean. Really like your front license plate.
crazyjim Posted April 4, 2016 Author Posted April 4, 2016 Thanks Ray, Jeff, and Ricky. Interior was done according to the instruction sheet (sort of).
espo Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 Looks great. I'm in the middle of the same kit now, appreciate the inspiration.
crazyjim Posted April 4, 2016 Author Posted April 4, 2016 Thanks David. There's errors in the instruction sheet. Taillights need to be mounted from the inside. Wheel rims mount from the backside. Calls #48 spindles to be used but no mention of #49 spindles. Air filter #79 & 80 can be replaced with #93 (like I did). No mention of #93 in the instructions.
wayne swayze Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 Sweet looking car Jim. Really like the colour.
bbowser Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 Well done. I can't wait to get my paws on one of these.
StevenGuthmiller Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 She's a beauty Jim! I love the color! In fact I love it so much, I used a very similar color for a '61 Bonneville build I did a couple of years ago. The factory color is called "Richelieu Blue" & the color you chose looks very close. Nice work! Steve
MrObsessive Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 Jim! Beautiful car! You beat me to it as this is the very color I want to do mine in when its turn comes up! I have all the pics I need saved and perhaps later this year I'll get started on it. The wheels look great and it's got that right "stance" for a '61. Very nice interior as well, and it certainly suits the car!
crazyjim Posted April 4, 2016 Author Posted April 4, 2016 Thanks Bill. I painted the wheels aluminum and dropped some black Detailer into the slots.
Volksfan Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 Love the early 60s cars. Last of the tailfins and were longer, lower, and wider. I love your beautiful Pontiac. But my favorite part of the model is that, quad tone fantasy interior!
