Picked up 18 nova wagons, a case of 71 VWs at my Waterford/ Clarkston Ollies on Dixie hwy. The store was ready for some additional kits to restock - D-50 Coke truck, 40 ford Coke , all at 12.99. They also had the 1957 Chevy Nomad 1/24 by Monogram, (get this, the new price on those only was 16.95 )( no thank you) so look in your Mich stores boys, restock is on the way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My store Lewisburg got more new stuff (for them) COKE D-50 and Bug, 66 Pontiac, Bat wing. Seems stuff is rolling out in waves......someone is dumping lots of stuff.

I hit the Lakeland, FL store today. They got a new shipment as they had several new kits compared to my last visit. These were on a rolling display rack in the middle of the store. I'm with Dave, seems like someone(Round 2, a distributor?) is offloading a bunch of old stock. The kits I got today had 2021 & 2022 dates on the boxes.

The Nova wagon that I got a couple weeks ago had a 01/20/2022 production date, too. Seems like most of these kits were showing up at Walmart previously.  Can't be sure about them all, since my 3 closest Walmarts are pretty much useless as far as carrying kits.  So I haven't personally found kits at a Walmart in several years.

Just got a new Ollie's flyer in the mail yesterday, specifically advertising an AMT "kit buyout".  Normally that means my local store should have gotten another shipment, hopefully a different selection than last time.  I'll have to detour over there in the next few days.

It never ceases to amaze me the sheer variety & number of kits fluctuates greatly between stores. The Lakeland store had just a small selection while the Merritt Island store had a very nice well stocked display, one that I intend to raid this weekend(if there's anything left) as I have another model show to attend in Cape Canaveral.

One thing can be said about buying these kits at Ollie's- It gets them sold at a price that I think is reasonable for an on average 40-50 yr old kit. I just have a real hard time paying anything close to MSRP on any AMT reissue as the value simply isn't there.

Mine had a bunch of snap kits and some 40 Fords..

Give it a week or two and try again Carl.  They have new stock coming regularly.   Fort Wayne was a bust the first time and two weeks later I scored.

Keep trying Mike! I had to go back to Hatboro, PA a bunch of times, they did finally put some kits out after about a week or so. It seems that they just added some Meyers Manx kits within the past few days.

My store has a history of having kits I have zero interest in.

I picked up the AMT 40 Ford, 65 Bonneville, and D50 at the store in Richmond, Ky today. They had what was in the flyer plus the mail truck. They won't last long as the ebay resellers will buy most of them this weekend.

Mail truck I definitely want

Yeah I got a 20% off code so I’m thinking about going back to pick one up. My store had about 7 of them, and hopefully scalpers didn’t get them all yet.

EDIT: Just realized I have the hostess version of the mail truck, but still might get one anyways.

I agree with Thomas, I really want a mail truck!

Ollie's is right down the street from my local Costco; I went to Costco on Tuesday and ended up going to Ollie's and getting the Coca Cola Dodge D50 and the '65 Bonneville. I saw two Surf Sharks but resisted. Then I remembered how cool Bryan Fuller's "Thundertaker" is and I recently saw it at the Savoy auto museum. I went to Costco again first thing today to fuel up and hit Ollie's, they restocked Surf Sharks and I got two of them, one for me and another for a friend in Ohio who has a lousy Ollie's and I'll be up there next month. Didn't see any of the big rig stuff, but most everything else people have seen was there.

I remember when the Surf Shark debuted at a $50 MSRP and I thought "I'll bet it shows up at Ollie's, it'll never sell for $50". Win ?
