Ollie's strike again

Recommended Posts

Not just sitting inventory, perhaps licensing period has ended.  When that happens, the company producing the licensed item has to stop on day X, but has a specified period after that to sell off the items.

If too high a percentage of total production goes to closeout, that can be a bad thing.  A small amount every so often is tolerable.

Checked my local Ollies (Merrrillville, IN).  No JJ funny cars, in fact nothing new whatsoever.

Same Atlantis ship and airplane kits collecting dust on the shelves, and a bunch of the MPC Wacky Racers.

Still had a couple of the MPC trikes too.  Thought they'd gotten rid of all those, but they must have found some more (or shifted them around from somewhere else).

I was able to get a Jungle Jim 1/16 Vega at the Airport Road store in Allentown, Pa. It is a very nice model, especially for $15! The body on mine is very clean. I may wind up not painting it, just polish and clear it.

The fuel truck is 1/48 scale.  I saw a few of those yesterday, hadn't seen them before.  The same store still had quite a few of those Fireball dragster kits from about a month ago.
