Building contest

As the new guy first off thank you to all who have looked at my posts, given me helpful suggestions and guidance, and have made me feel welcomed. That being said I am about to not break any ground here as I am sure this has been done before. I would like to propose a model building contest. I think 3 levels: Novice, Intermediate, and master builders categories. The subject should be up to the individual with a range given such as: American Cars 1954-1970, or Drag Cars 1960-1974, etc. We would have let's say a month or so to complete the model and it could include something you just started working on, or just something you want to build specific to the contest. Not sure if a prize can be awarded. In my mind it's more how I stack up against my peer group more than anything else. Thanks for looking and I welcome any suggestions, commentary, laughing at the new guy or whatever else.

I like It. I fit in the intermediate category. I started Moebius '61 Ventura a couple weeks ago & could enter that. It's painted but nothings detailed or put together.

My advice to you is to find a local model club, and go to some local contests. There is a New Jersey chapter if IPMS. http://njipms.org/
