dw1603 Posted July 4, 2016 Posted July 4, 2016 I think it is a model, but then I've been wrong before!
gbdolfans Posted July 4, 2016 Posted July 4, 2016 I also think it is a model.I will give reasons Friday.
Harry P. Posted July 4, 2016 Posted July 4, 2016 I'm going with real because it looks real to me. Hard to argue with logic like that!
Pete J. Posted July 4, 2016 Posted July 4, 2016 Well, technically if it is a model it is a diorama. I voted model!
peteski Posted July 6, 2016 Posted July 6, 2016 Model. There is one very visible clue (at least to me). But the modeling and photography are superb.
sjordan2 Posted July 8, 2016 Posted July 8, 2016 This guy is a superb diorama builder and photographer. He mostly uses existing diecast cars.
Pete J. Posted July 8, 2016 Posted July 8, 2016 What gave it a way to me was the depth of field. Had this been a real photo shot at the apparent distance the pickup should have been in as sharp a focus as the rest of the photo. Also the windscreen wipers on the car are flat.
Earl Marischal Posted July 8, 2016 Posted July 8, 2016 It was the tyres that did it for me. No bulge in the sidewall.steve
Draggon Posted July 8, 2016 Posted July 8, 2016 It was the tyres that did it for me. No bulge in the sidewall.steveAnd the excessive negative camber on the front wheel.
gbdolfans Posted July 8, 2016 Posted July 8, 2016 I had seen pics just like that and kind of knew it was from Michael Smith's work.
dw1603 Posted July 8, 2016 Posted July 8, 2016 The wipers mounted to the windshield frame and the tire bulge for me. Very impressive work though, I was ready to be wrong.
dw1603 Posted July 8, 2016 Posted July 8, 2016 And the excessive negative camber on the front wheel. Negative camber? How else are you going to make this beast handle?
crazyjim Posted July 8, 2016 Posted July 8, 2016 How do you guys see such details on an iddy biddy little picture?
Harry P. Posted July 8, 2016 Posted July 8, 2016 I knew it was a model. I had seen this photo (and more more of his work) before. But as good as he is, there's one thing that makes his photos look odd... there are never any people in them.
Pete J. Posted July 9, 2016 Posted July 9, 2016 I knew it was a model. I had seen this photo (and more more of his work) before. But as good as he is, there's one thing that makes his photos look odd... there are never any people in them. Better??
peteski Posted July 12, 2016 Posted July 12, 2016 Model. There is one very visible clue (at least to me). But the modeling and photography are superb.I have also seen Michael Smith's work in the past. I recognized his work right away. But what to me gives it away is the chain-link fence. It doesn't look like real chin-link pattern but more like veil material. chain-link has square openings where this stuff is more like a parallelogram.
Xingu Posted July 12, 2016 Posted July 12, 2016 I honestly thought the road looked to nice, uniform and flat.
