m408 Posted April 22, 2008 Author Posted April 22, 2008 Look at our old pal Milt taking the "who, me?" stance on this one...That's OK, you know what the say about paybacks! It'll take me a little while, but I'll find just the perfect kit or PE set for you to "win" at the next event... "PE"? Is that Prostate Exam?
evilone Posted April 22, 2008 Posted April 22, 2008 "PE"? Is that Prostate Exam? youll get to know your doctor more LOL
Raul_Perez Posted April 23, 2008 Posted April 23, 2008 "PE"? Is that Prostate Exam? That's pretty funny, Milt!! PE=photo etched...and I've got just the perfect project in mind for you...
m408 Posted April 23, 2008 Author Posted April 23, 2008 That's pretty funny, Milt!! PE=photo etched...and I've got just the perfect project in mind for you... I don't do PE stuf Raul. My 8" sheet metal shears just can't get straight edges, and if they do, I have a hard time lining the parts up when using my "liquid nails" glue to hold them in place.
jbwelda Posted April 23, 2008 Posted April 23, 2008 dont know if youre kidding but in case you are not: >My 8" sheet metal shears just can't get straight edges, cut PE with an xacto blade and then file the nib down with a mid-coarse sanding stick. or go to radio ###### shack and get a pair of cheap cutters (the only thing they have that seems to work) and dedicate them to cutting PE. >using my "liquid nails" glue to hold them in place dont use glue; use the miracle substance, future floor polish to hold small PE detail parts. works like a champ. clear overcoat lacquer will work too but future is more forgiving.

I was kidding. Tried a PE part once. Trimmed it nicely with a new #11 blade, started to put it in place on some Future. It flipped off of my sharp tipped tweezers and I haven't seen it since.
jbwelda Posted April 24, 2008 Posted April 24, 2008 >It flipped off of my sharp tipped tweezers i can identify with that. a very small bit of blue tac on the end of a toothpick works a lot better than tweezers for photo etch. no i dont have an answer for everything but that particular scenerio ive been through once or twice!
