Billy Kingsley Posted April 23, 2008 Posted April 23, 2008 I got the MASSCAR photos up on my Fotki...Most all of them are by my mom...Mine are going to Gregg Hutchings at Model Cars Magazine as soon as he responds to my email! Take a look at these sample photos, then hit the link to see the rest, and feel free to leave comments! As it was the 20th Anniversary of the event, Stu Marcus prepared several displays of the history of the club, which were on display in the Hospitality Suite all day Saturday. On Saturday Night, during the Banquet and Trivia Contest, all the past presidents or their family (two have passed away, John Reid and Tex Ouderkirk) spoke and this is a photo of them all. From Left to Right: Doug Estabrook, Jim Cunningham, Neil Van Zile, Tex's Sons, Steve DeVaux, Tony Mazzola and John Reid's wife. The Club provided a cake for everyone to have. Then it was time for Trivia/Jeopardy...Arguably the best time to be had in the entire hobby! Then, after we all ate our fill and had fun with trivia, the Hospitality Suite opened back up and us TNMCC boys stayed till the very end, chatting about lots of things but mostly cars until well after midnight! From left to right, John McGuinness, Bob Pettine, Jim Devine, Rat Fink, Me, Vince LoBosco and Greg Nichols. Not pictured, but also present, was fellow member Calvin Crouch. Then, come Sunday Morning, it was time for the models to take center stage, and more then 300 came out, the largest turn out in 4 years. Gee, I wonder who built these?
Billy Kingsley Posted April 23, 2008 Author Posted April 23, 2008 In it's 20 year history, MASSCAR had never had a boat before. This year, 6 showed up! Believe it or not, this was the junior table! Then, at the end of the day, the Judges had a lot of work to do, but they did it and it was time to announce the winners. From here, everything is being prepared to hand out the awards. Presenters Lisa and Norm Jean, President Jim Cunningham, Steve DeVaux and Doug Estabrook are in this photo. When all was said and done, Jeff Harper's spectacular tribute to the late Tex Ouderkirk took home Best In Show. Here, Jeff poses with Tex's sons. None of this coverage would have been possible without these two people. Stu Marcus on the left, and my mom, who took 194 of the 199 photos in the album! Thanks for looking, and here's the link to the rest of the photos. http://public.fotki.com/ElCaminoBilly/mode...ws/masscar2008/
