Me... I am disabled from a bad car accident in June of 1996...was not my fault.  I use to be in the automotive field...auto repair, car dealership mechanic..etc.,I use to drag race and love old cars even built a few...still would like to have one myself.  I also worked security at large plants here for a few years.  Now I build and restore models and promos...I do a lot of volunteer work here locally to try to stay active as possible when I can.

I run the leasing division for one of Canada's larger vehicle lease, rental, sales, and fleet management companies. Our fleet currently has around 12,000 vehicles and 20 branches across Canada. Been here for about 6.5 years now.

Before that, spent a few years in industrial sales, which I hated. Awful company, with products I could not care less about.

Before that, 5 years of Porsche sales, 3 years running the detail department at a BMW dealer while completing my second university degree, 6 years of running the detail department for a Porsche/VW dealer while getting my first university degree. Before that, lot attendant/detailer at a Hyundai store for a year. Before that three years of being a stockboy at a grocery store. And that's my complete work history!

65 , retired a few years ago. 31 years at Channellock, Inc, last 20 of those as a cutter grinder. Custom automotive paint  since I was 21, been an avid model builder since I was 9. Deeply involved in the automotive scene here since I learned how to drive, know my way around a car pretty well, and can rebuild the 'older stuff' from the ground up, if I have to.........Steven Zimmerman

Nearly 37 years in law enforcement. Retired once, got bored and went right back after moving west to Las Vegas.

I am a "Senior Agent" (sergeant) with the Nevada Gaming Control Board. It's a state law enforcement agency tasked with policing the gaming industry. I specialize in computer fraud, money laundering and anything else criminal that comes my way.

Thanks for replying guys. Some really cool jobs, past and present. It may sound stupid, but I really miss getting up and going to work everyday! Started out as a fork lift operater for 5 yrs, coin operated video game and pinball tech for 3 yrs., then bought a big truck and went trucking for 15 yrs., then bought a collision repair biz & worked it for another 15 or so yrs. (40%auto, about 60% heavy truck repair). After my first heart surgery, I went to work for an Entergy contracted tree service for a couple of years doing bucket truck inspections on about 20 pcs of equip. I loved it, worked 4 nights a wk, traveling about 250 mi. a night. I would go a month without seeing my boss, faxed paperwork in on thurs. get a ck on Sat.! Worked hurrican Humberto in 2007 transporting supplies to our crews on the gulf coast. I've had a small sign business since about 76, loved the hand painted and airbrush stuff, but kinda lost interest when vinyl came along. I've had 2 more heart surgeries (stayed in a coma for about a mo. with the second one) neck surg., p/m-defibulator installed and was  supposed to have been gone by 2012!  Now i'm nursemaid to my wife who's had alot of problems lately.

We've done this before, but I am fully retired for 8 years now and loving every minute! I still don't finish anything, though.

I was a Structural Engineer and partner in an engineering/ architectural firm for 35 years .. my dream job right out of college. Originally paper mill engineers the first building (and paper machine foundations) were for a new Crane and Company mill to produce 100% of US Currency paper. Inside the finished mill was a green glow and a lovely smell. Every job I had was different and I enjoyed going to work every day until the grief we had to take from clients just got to be too much to bear.

Thanks Bill. It is fun, something different every day and I see (and hear) some incredible cars running around out here. The best thing is, it is only 30 miles from my house AND an easy drive. Much better then the 70 miles (one way) I was driving down I75 to get to Warren... I start at 5:30am and get out at 2:00pm. Leaves me the whole afternoon to work in the shop. :)

Me? I've got 3 of greatest jobs in the world. During the school year, I work as a substitute educational para. Been doing this for 9 1/2 years now, and I still love it. In fact I love it more now than when I started. I work with all grades, K - 12. Sometime with pre and post school programs. Mostly with kids who have some sort of disability. And mainly in 3 school districts very close to my house. So the commutes are great.

For the last two summers I've been working at a local O'Reillys auto parts store. Another job I like a lot. And only 1 mile from my house. Could walk there, if I had to. I work with a great group of mostly guys (only one gal), who all seem to like each other. Our store, has won "store of the year" in our district two years running. Which tells you something. During the school months, I work one or two Sunday's every month to "stay on the books." And to keep my discount.

The third job? Professional Pirate. I'm crew with a local Jack Sparrow look a like (Twin Cities Jack). We do local parades festivals, fairs, parties, etc. Sometimes we are paid. Hence my claim to being a "Professional Pirate." At times we do it for free. For charities and the like. When I am a pirate, I'm "Dudley the Deckhand." And I'm not a very good pirate. I lose just about every sword fight I'm in. Getting killed several times at many events. I tell bad jokes, and I'm kind of dense. Lost a race to a turtle about a month ago at a county fair.

I spent most of my adult life working for auto dealers on service end of things before that. I do have college degree in Automotive History, and for 20 years wrote a regular monthly column in the Minnesota Street Rod Association's magazine, the LineChaser. "Uncle Scott Says."

I was a land agent for a large pipeline company for over 20 years. Met interesting people and saw interesting places and things in 4 provinces. Then about 5 years in maintenance management. Downsized out of the company  in 2000. Worked as a contract land agent on large and small projects since. Had two and three year spells without work. Currently winding down towards full retirement.

In the winter, I am in charge of the local snowshoe trails with a couple of other codgers. We brush and remove deadfalls in the fall and trim the branches above as the snow builds up. This is volunteer work, no pay. The rest of the time I build models and do some woodworking. I used to dabble in old cars, still have two. All I do is maintain and drive them I find the 1:25 one quite a bit cheaper to play with and the parts aren't so heavy.B)
