I remember getting ready for work was a shower, usual grooming and coffee....1/2 hour or so...now the 1/2 hour is dedicated to grunts and groans , then the shower and grooming, wash a few pills down with that coffee, a few strategic ace wraps to hold various joints in place, and then off to work. As a kid I would always wonder why older folks got up so early.

I normally am up at 4:30 a.m. because my back won't let me lay there in bed any later than that, and I'm only 45. :D

Ken, now that's a good one, how true.  Heck, getting up early was never a problem for me, nowadays its even easier.  Then a coffee and the stretching and bending program starts, takes a lot more time than it used too.  Nowadays, at least an hour, better 90 minutes before I can leave the house for chores.

Hey, I have to read news online about the Series and Politics, that takes even more time!

Ouch, that doesn't sound good as I have back problems that come and go. Lately my back is feelin' pretty good except when I was rakin' and baggin' leaves the other day. Upper back pain usually goes away without any meds, but lower back pain likes to hang around for awhile and that's not good with me. I haven't seen my back doctor for a whole year now and I'm doin' my best to avoid him.

Harry mentioned recently, we ought to have a "Sick Bay Forum".  For us over 60 guys, I'm inclined to agree.

Preferably though as a commenter, and not a poster.

Scratch that though.

I've been having blood pressure issues and good doctors, prescriptions and me, have yet to find a common ground.  Right now I'm about to fall asleep while typing, five minutes ago I heard my heartbeat pounding in my ears and my eyes became bloodshot.  This is like a roller coaster.

Today a doctor visit brought an intake change, tomorrow an appointment for a long term ECG.  I'm worried.  This has been going on for a half year now.  Meds are not making up for the difference.

Age.  Yep.  Fact.

Right now I think I've got bronchitis for the THIRD time this year. Had it horrible in February--was off work six days in two weeks before I wised up and went to urgent care.

Got it again a month or so ago--didn't wait that long that time and only missed 3 hours of work.

Now I think it's back. I'm taking it easy and it didn't seem to get any worse today, but if it does, I'll be right back at urgent care getting it fixed again.

I quoted and thought I posted that last night. When I came back today, it wasn't there...so I hit Reply and there my post was again (an occasionally useful oddity of this board), so I resubmitted it. Glad to see I was right. :D

Better to be over the hill than under the hill.

Nicely put. At work I often say, "Getting old is hell, but the alternative is even worse. Ask Elvis. HE ain't getting any older."

I've also been known to say "Any day on this side of the grass is a GOOD day."

.... It culminated in heart surgery 6 weeks ago. Gotta say that I feel better than I have in years. Some of this stuff just sneaks up on you.

How true.

At present, I'm in limbo and worrying, testing is not complete yet.  I don't feel well, period.  New stuff for me.

Dave, I'm pleased to read of your recovery!
