Mwwyrick Posted December 6, 2016 Posted December 6, 2016 Hi, this is my first build after 30 years. I'm thinking of nicknaming her "Bloodshot" cause that's what my eyes were after fussing over those doors... this is my humble offering to this awesome group.
kilrathy10 Posted December 6, 2016 Posted December 6, 2016 Looks really good after your 30 year hiatus......Very nice work.....I've never built one of these, but I have heard about those doors......
landman Posted December 6, 2016 Posted December 6, 2016 Oh yes, the doors. They were a pain. Good comeback Mark.
extmcdriver Posted December 6, 2016 Posted December 6, 2016 Great job on this and yes, the doors are ridiculous on this kit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
tbill Posted December 6, 2016 Posted December 6, 2016 nice job, i too have heard horror stories about those doors, have a few in the stash but have yet to build one, yours looks great.
Mwwyrick Posted December 7, 2016 Author Posted December 7, 2016 (edited) Thank you gentleman!Question, as I have been looking over others builds, is it to late to run lines and such for the motor and or brakes? I also installed the glass before spraying dullcote on the cab, is it too late for that as well? Edited December 7, 2016 by Mwwyrick
gatorincebu Posted December 7, 2016 Posted December 7, 2016 Well you haven't lost your modeling skills. That looks good. Be Well Gator
Fat Brian Posted December 9, 2016 Posted December 9, 2016 Thank you gentleman!Question, as I have been looking over others builds, is it to late to run lines and such for the motor and or brakes? I also installed the glass before spraying dullcote on the cab, is it too late for that as well? You can still run whatever lines you can still get to, you will probably have to touch up the paint at the attachment points though. You can't spray dull over the glass, it will make it look frosted and definitely not clear.
426-Hemi Posted December 10, 2016 Posted December 10, 2016 NICE Work for a 30 yr old build!!!! Hope to see more of your work when you get started..... Always nice to see someone "returning" just as I did!
DRIPTROIT 71 Posted December 11, 2016 Posted December 11, 2016 Looks great!! It looks like you came out victorious on those doors. Welcome back to building.
NY Modeler Posted December 14, 2016 Posted December 14, 2016 Thank you gentleman!Question, as I have been looking over others builds, is it to late to run lines and such for the motor and or brakes? I also installed the glass before spraying dullcote on the cab, is it too late for that as well?Nice job Mark! Regarding the windshield, you can mask off the areas where the wiper blades "sweep", and then dullcoat everything. When you remove the tape, the clear areas will look like those on 1:1 vehicles.
Mopar - D Posted December 21, 2016 Posted December 21, 2016 Nice Dodge Mark, welcome back to building again. I also had a long break in building to and have found that a lot of things have changed from back then. And it's all for the good.
scummy Posted December 27, 2016 Posted December 27, 2016 Good clean build mate , i like these little dodges .
Mwwyrick Posted December 28, 2016 Author Posted December 28, 2016 Thank you all for the kind and encouraging words!
