EaglePassNative Posted May 13, 2008 Posted May 13, 2008 Well, here goes. I used to build alot of truck models as a teenager over 25 years ago. Here is my first one since then. It may look as gimpy as they did then but it was big fun now that I stopped building the real stuff (hot rods mainly) due to high cost. I narrowed the bed and extended the front fenders. Also used nothing but super glue, and it shows. Hazed the painted surfaces and cab windows. Even tried my hand at BMF but the visor looks like it was crumpled up then half ass straightened back out with all its creases in the foil. Oh well, you live and learn.
The Modeling Hermit Posted May 13, 2008 Posted May 13, 2008 That's one of the nicest builds I've seen of that kit.
mackinac359 Posted May 13, 2008 Posted May 13, 2008 To avoid the wrinkles on visors, install it when painting, then foil it after the paint has cured. This way it won't flex when you're rubbing the foil on. Tim
broch Posted May 13, 2008 Posted May 13, 2008 A really great build! Love the John Deere colors and decals! Looks nice! Nothing runs like a Deere you know!
EaglePassNative Posted May 13, 2008 Author Posted May 13, 2008 Thanks for the kinds words fella's. Also for your tip Tim. That makes good sense.
