crazyjim Posted January 21, 2017 Posted January 21, 2017 I think this is #2 for 2017 and it's a '99 Chevy Silverado painted with HOK tangerine kandy over zenith gold. Even though you can't see it very well, I cut out the original plastic grille and replaced it with some metal mesh. I followed one of the TV shows and covered all the coils with chrome valve covers and a "normal" distributor. Wheels/tires are from the parts box.
espo Posted January 21, 2017 Posted January 21, 2017 I like the color and the grill modifications really make the front end standout. The interior is colorful.
Dodge Driver Posted January 21, 2017 Posted January 21, 2017 That paint really pops in the sunlight! Nice going!
kilrathy10 Posted January 22, 2017 Posted January 22, 2017 That's a cool looking truck.....I'm loving the color.....Awesome.....

towman1271 Posted January 22, 2017 Posted January 22, 2017 really like this one.. Nice colors & great details
cobraman Posted January 22, 2017 Posted January 22, 2017 Good looking truck Jim. You have been on a truck binge lately, no ? I would like to see you build a Cobra. How about it ? : )
crazyjim Posted January 22, 2017 Author Posted January 22, 2017 Thanks Dave and Ray.You know Ray, I don't believe I've ever built a Cobra. Used to work with a guy that retired and started a a Cobra kit car. When he was done a couple years later he brought it work to show off. He put a 289 in it and did that little thing fly. Sorta cramped for the legs and hot inside - but it was quick! I can only imagine a 427 for power.
JJER Posted January 23, 2017 Posted January 23, 2017 Great looking truck Crazy-J. Moved to western NC from Ruskin in Sept. Hopefully I can get back down to one of your shows.JR
crazyjim Posted January 23, 2017 Author Posted January 23, 2017 Thanks Jim. Going to miss you and your fantastic builds down here.
JerseyRed Posted January 23, 2017 Posted January 23, 2017 I like the color and the grill modifications really make the front end standout. The interior is colorful. My thoughts exactly! Very nice ?
Dann Tier Posted January 23, 2017 Posted January 23, 2017 VERY,VERY nice looking truck!! -mesh looks great -wheels/tyres -colors!! Q: what did you use for the wash in the windscreen vent? -it looks BETTER than just filling it in with an opaque paint!!
crazyjim Posted January 23, 2017 Author Posted January 23, 2017 Thanks Dan. The wash is just black wash from The Detailer.
gatorincebu Posted January 24, 2017 Posted January 24, 2017 Awesome color on a well built model ! Be Well Gator
