Gregor Posted January 25, 2017 Posted January 25, 2017 What should I use to bind a resin plastic to a regular kit (Revell) plastic. I am doing a 70 dart using the 68-69 dart kit for the chassis and windows. Also any advice on how to re create a black vinyl top?
Ramfins59 Posted January 25, 2017 Posted January 25, 2017 Use either CA glue (super glue) or 5 Minute Epoxy to glue plastic and resin parts together. For the vinyl top you can use masking tape trimmed to fit and painted flat black, or, mask off the body and spray flat black paint from about 2 feet away to "dust" the paint on, in several coats to cover, and give a rough finish.
Perspect Scale Modelworks Posted January 27, 2017 Posted January 27, 2017 Ditto what Richard said. I found this on ebay for about $7. It says cloth but it's more like vinyl with a nice scale texture. I haven't used it yet but it will be going on my '67 Galaxie to LTD conversion.
Warren D Posted January 27, 2017 Posted January 27, 2017 I have used CA, I prefer the gap filling kind as it's a little thicker and stays where you put it.
