Hello all,

I am attempting to recreate a service station that was located up the street from where I live, I used to hang out there alot when I was a kid in the 70s, I have a ton of photos and have been all over the place with the owners permission taking measurements and everything. however the one thing I am having trouble finding for my diorama is a Good resin cast of a 1970s gas pump, there used to be a website that had the ones I am looking for ( they are kind of square) but I can not seem to find them, I had thought it was Scale equipment limited but they do not have any.

does anyone know where I can find a good resin copy of these gas pumps? I have tried ebay but have not been able to find them. found lots of not so good prebullt ones, but these are not what I am looking for.

Thanks

Rod, you may be out of luck. The good quality gas pumps that you are referring to, were probably the ones cast by SMBC. It was a sad day when Paul passed away. I also saw that you have posted in the SMBC pinned thread in the resin section. I don't think that it is very wise for you to suggest making new molds/copies of SMBC items. Just my 2 cents.

I do pumps myself and never really got excited about pumps after about 1959. I did a couple of Tokiem Explorer dispensers and a pair of the Specialty ROUND  pumps one time years back for George 53 . I just can't seem to justify doing a resin mold for gasoline pumps . Everyone seems to want speed parts and car bodies .

A Japanese company called Doozy Modelworks made some fantastic 1/24 North American 1970's/80's pumps in resin kits. I'm lucky to have a couple. Like many Japanese model companies, their products are limited runs, and they are currently unavailable, but you may be able to find some by searching eBay, etc. If you do a google image search for Doozy Modelworks Pump you'll see the three different types they made.

Yeah, Doozy made some excellent diorama-detailing models. They also produced vending machines, newspaper boxes, and pay-phones.  The castings and decals are excellent quality!

Repstock,

The pumps you made for your gas station are the ones I am looking for, coincidently your station is almost exactly the same as the Sinclair station that I want to model. the only difference is there was 2 door on the front, one where yours is and one right next to the first bay and the side door for the bathroom would be further back and there were 2 of them for the womens and mens restroom. I have a ton of pics of this gas station both inside and outside, the owner has been very kiond and allowed me to take as many pics as I wanted.

do you have any extras of your pumps? and if so would you care to sell a couple?

Thanks.

Rod.
