Polar Lights F/C Question......

Guys,

I am finally completing my first, yea, I know, P/L F/C kit and during some final test assembly I found a small problem. When I install the calipers on the rear axel and add the rotor to the rear wheel, there isn't enough depth for the assembly. What I mean is that the tire rubs on the suspension arms, anyone else see this? Did I miss assemble something? I am lost, becuase I have about 8-10 of these kits I want to build in different liveries, but if they build like this, I am not so sure when....

Any input would be appreciated!!!

You didn't make any errors. The axle is too narrow on every one of these kits! You have to fiddle with these. If you make the axle wider, you get the tire away from the traction bars, but you run the risk of the tires rubbing the body! Like I said, you have to fiddle with it!

No problem with this one. The body is "fat"

On this one, I spaced the wheels out, but they come real close to the body. Not noticeable with the body up!

Something about the roll cage and the rear frame section just doesn't look right on these kits. Along with all the other qwirks, it's a shame. I've started using the MPC chassis and fortunately I have a bunch of JoHan's too. I have about 15 P/L kits, but I just get so frustrated with them. I think it would be real cool if someone out there made a Logghe chassis parts pack from the old Jo-Han tools. In my opinion they were the best looking.

Thanks so much for the input, I am happy it wasnt me. But now what to do with all those F/C kits....

Len, Don't dispare. This thread has inspired me to really give this chassis a good look. I think that most of the problems with it can be fixed somewhat easily. I'm going to start to work on a correction tutorial as soon as I finish my current project (MK Cougar). No reason to let all those kits go to waste. I really don't thing it's gonna be that tough.

Oh, I agree, I have too many kits and decals not to find a way to "use" them....I have started to work on a fix too, so maybe we can compare notes....
