greygt Posted February 11, 2017 Posted February 11, 2017 (edited) I'm new to the forum. I built this a few years ago. I didn't try to make it a street version. I focused more on details/detailing. And a bit of scratch building. Things like a moroso oil accumulator. Fire suppression system. Disc brakes, and more. The color is testors hemi orange. FOrgive some of the pics. THey were taken with very old camera. Edited February 11, 2017 by greygt

426-Hemi Posted February 11, 2017 Posted February 11, 2017 NICELY DONE!!!!! Thats what I like to see, the General, with the REBEL ON IT!!!!! (And I'm being serious!) Love the General Lee, and the Dukes of Hazzard, always have (I'm doing a entire set of the cast cars & trucks in 1/25th scale!)Great work man!
greygt Posted February 12, 2017 Author Posted February 12, 2017 Thanks. It's great to be able to post this thing with the flag. I had to post it edited on scale auto. Although I got around this stupid rule.
426-Hemi Posted February 12, 2017 Posted February 12, 2017 Thats horse BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH.. editing the Rebel out of the pic, it WAS part of OUR American History!!!! And still is, its not a sign of hate, it was a sign of FREEDOM. It was the sign of FREEing the slaves among other things..... For the SOUTH, and whats the Confederate Flag represent? THE SOUTH.. Liberals..... Don't get me started.....I'm NOT from the south, altho grew up VERY close to the Mason-Dixon line, I have a strong following... and there was nothing wrong with the General Lee till they banned it from the car Made the car naked!.. The actual REAL "General Lee" himself rolled over in his grave! At least how you "removed" the Rebel from the car its a very respectful way of doing so! GOOD Job. the only thing that should lay out across the rebel flag, and she done it well!
Rdkingjay Posted February 27, 2017 Posted February 27, 2017 Very well done Matt. I did one of these a few years ago and the challenges to make them look nice are plentiful. I wish the molds could have been updated to be more accurate. I agree with you and others on the silly and foolish policies that SAE enforces with regards to this iconic car and the Rebel flag. They will never see any of my work on their website or on the pages of their rag! Again, great job! Not to hi-jack, but heres mine.
Slotto Posted May 1, 2017 Posted May 1, 2017 Nice build. I used to have this kit when I was a kid. I never finished mine.
