I prepped the body

Krylon white primer and then krylon white paint(perfect)!

Taped off stripes on body and sprayed krylon true blue,DIASTER!!!!

Cracked, checked,peeled,all kinds of grief.

What happened?

Should I stop trying to use Krylon?

Thanks

John

Even when I use Primer on my models, I'll leave a week of two before I'll handle tha model again....."gassing out" depends on what height above Sea Level you are (atmospheric air pressure) and tha current humidity levels, which change from day to day...... :(

Ifn I'm in a hurry, I have been known to use Heat Lamps......but it's like cooking a steak, gotta keep turning it......

John...

Krylon is very finicky from time to time. I have used their primer and I personally hate it. It does not cover well and crazes too much. I think if you use duplicolor White primer it would have been better off. Just my opinion. I have never had problems with Krylon using it over duplicolor filler primer in white, Grey, even black.

heres what i do

i go get the flat black and use that for a primer

if its not an amt or revell ill use the chrome silver for a primer

then i hit it with the color i want and let it dry for 1/2 an hour (out here in cali its hella hot)

then clear it and boom im done

it probably was a bad can of primer

but if you use my idea it will work 9 times out of 10

Just curious, why not chrome silver on AMT or Revell????? i do it quite often w/ great results.

i do it but i kinda like doing the black first and then the silver

kinda like real life car painting

to me it looks better then just sprayin silver then the metallics

the silver seems to pop more with black as a base coat
