crazyjim Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 Looking for something small, cheap, and disposable to filter paint and clear while filling an air brush cup.
GMCMAN52 Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 K-cup coffee make good filters. I purchased mine replacement filter from K Mart. It's made of plastic
crazyjim Posted May 3, 2017 Author Posted May 3, 2017 Hmmm. All the k-Marts around have closed. I don't wear pantyhose. Tea strainers are metallic. Thank you for the input. I found these that I'm considering.
GMCMAN52 Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 do you have a wal-mart near you........ I purchased mine at wal-mart but had Kmart in the brain
crazyjim Posted May 3, 2017 Author Posted May 3, 2017 Wal-Mart yes. The tea strainers I've seen online look the same as the strainer I use for flocking and the mesh is way to large for paint straining.
Xingu Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 You can try a local auto body supply house to see if they have any small/cheap paint filters, but probably find them cheaper online. What about the paint filters you can get from Home Depot or Lowes?
crazyjim Posted May 3, 2017 Author Posted May 3, 2017 I ordered the ones from TCP Global. They were $8 with free shipping. 190 micron things. We'll see what happens when they get here.
SteelyEd Posted May 4, 2017 Posted May 4, 2017 If you have a Harbor Freight in your area, they have some. I got mine there, box of 100 for like $5.00 .https://shop.harborfreight.com/quickview/index/index/id/5273/
crazyjim Posted May 4, 2017 Author Posted May 4, 2017 We have a HF locally. I bought the TCP Global pieces because they have mesh dead in the middle of the bottom. My thinking was that feature would work easier with an airbrush cup. The filters should be here soon and I'll try them on my '48 Chevy build.

To use them, looks like you'll have to pour the paint through the filter while holding the filter sideways. Otherwise, there's some waste in the bottom of the filter.I ordered the ones from TCP Global. They were $8 with free shipping. 190 micron things. We'll see what happens when they get here. How many did you get for $8?
crazyjim Posted May 4, 2017 Author Posted May 4, 2017 50. That was the smallest quantity. If they work for me, I'll order a larger quantity.
Dragline Posted May 8, 2017 Posted May 8, 2017 If you have a NAPA anywhere near you that mixes paint they will hand you some. At least that's what I do at my store. If I'm asked I'll hand some over the counter for the price of a smile.
