mcvickj Posted May 11, 2017 Posted May 11, 2017 Hi there. I am brand new to airbrushing and got a chance to use it for a few hours last weekend. It is a dual action Iwata Revolution HP-CR. When spraying do you always press all the way down on the air and then use the pulling back motion to control the paint flow? Or are there times where you are only slightly pressing down for air while pulling back? I am still trying to get a feel for thinning the paint too. If you are using thinner paint do you want a lower PSI? If I remember correctly I was around 22-23 PSI.
GeeBee Posted May 11, 2017 Posted May 11, 2017 I press all the way for air and pull back for paint, air is regulated by the control on the compressor, you cash get away with a lower pressure using thinner paints, but I mix my paints to the same constancy and keep the pressure set at between 20-25 psi.
BigTallDad Posted May 11, 2017 Posted May 11, 2017 You included viscosity and pressure, but left out one part of the Holy Trinity...distance.
