Frame and suspension

I have a resin of the Rod&Custom Dream Truck. Just got great article and pics of it when it was first "finished" But I am now puzzled. The resin has a early johan type chassis plate. I would like to have a more accurate (detailed) chassis. Reading 1957 article, it implys that that the olds passenger car frame was not used,but the 50 chevy truck frame was. And in listing what was done, it lists a dropped axle. NOT the independant suspension hinted at by the chassis plate. If it had airbags and dropped axle,It would be similar to that used in Barris Ala Kart. Anyone know or have pics ?????????
