GerN Posted September 23, 2017 Posted September 23, 2017 This little project was inspired by the August 1987 issue of Scale Auto Enthusiast which I found in my basement. It focuses on Vettes and even includes some custom builds. I recently got an AMT/Ertl C4 glue bomb body and interior for $0.82 and of course I had to start the butchery. Warning: I'll probably never get this past the primer stage (but with all necessary subassemblies), as usual. I wanted to do something to the nose and roof primarily. Then I decided the faux Ferrari cut line/trim strip had to go. So here it is:
GerN Posted September 23, 2017 Author Posted September 23, 2017 The first picture is after I cut out a hood opening and superglued the front end on. It shows a bit of the overzealous glue application from the original build. I'd love to hear from other custom builders (Are you there Bill Stillwagon?); I'm already planning to extend the grille upper lip about 2 mm. I'm wondering about the extreme undercut on the sides: should I fill it to match up with the front better?
mod3l Lover Posted September 24, 2017 Posted September 24, 2017 Very cool Gerald!! Very cool indeed!I can't wait to see where this one goes. David S.
