Straightliner59 Posted October 21, 2017 Posted October 21, 2017 Beautifully constructed models and a great history lesson. Thanks for sharing! Excellent work on both counts.
Peter Lombardo Posted October 21, 2017 Author Posted October 21, 2017 Peter... I love them all, it is fantastic to see you've been busy!!! I just finished the #98 car a few months back. And I do remember Henry taking it to Enzo way back then, yes I am an old guy! Curt, your beautiful build of #98 mentioned you got the decals from Pattos Place in Australia .... I needed that set and finally found where to get it from.... Thanks, your info helped me tremendously.
Bill J Posted October 21, 2017 Posted October 21, 2017 Awesome tribute to a great race car and bunch of drivers. Wish I had the skills to match your talent
Peter Lombardo Posted October 21, 2017 Author Posted October 21, 2017 I hit the link, sweet!!!!!!! I wanna see the cobra daytona coupe you have started.Okay, I will post some in progress shots later. Thanks for asking.
vamach1 Posted October 21, 2017 Posted October 21, 2017 (edited) Just absolutely beautiful and period correct. I will get to my full detail HRM Cobra someday. Here are some of my old builds from the 1990's. Edited October 22, 2017 by vamach1 Creative miniatures.
bogger44 Posted October 21, 2017 Posted October 21, 2017 That is one stunning collection! Truly great work, and thanks for the history lesson.
Dave B Posted October 22, 2017 Posted October 22, 2017 Great builds Peter. I also converted the Fujimi coupe into the Sebring winning Spyder some years back using Cady decals and vac forming the screen. Tks for showingDave B
Phildaupho Posted October 22, 2017 Posted October 22, 2017 I just discovered this post and I am sure glad you solved the photo problem. I am going to bookmark this so I can spend the required time to fully appreciate your fabulous GT40's and text. GT40's are probably my all time favorite racing car. The Thunder Valley kit was the first after market purchase I made over twenty years ago but still have not built it. One of these days I will get to building my ultimate GT40 which is the one raced by the Canadian Comstock Team.

Phildaupho Posted October 22, 2017 Posted October 22, 2017 I finally finished TV kit thanks to HRM and the Fujumi kit. Those wide rear tires sure look great.
Peter Lombardo Posted October 22, 2017 Author Posted October 22, 2017 Great to see the other GT40's you guys have posted....I always loved the roadster version of the car and the "Sebring" winner prototype just looks great. Anyone with any GT40's, lets see them. Rex, very nice work there.... the white car looks like the early version of the GT... is that the Revell kit? I have that kit but have not decided if I should give it a go because it is so "wonky" Your version looks pretty good, I may have to rethink starting it. Great job on the 1969 winner too!
vamach1 Posted October 22, 2017 Posted October 22, 2017 (edited) Thanks. The #11 is the IMC kit. I have built both J cars too ut that's another story. Edited October 22, 2017 by vamach1 Thx
Gramps46 Posted October 22, 2017 Posted October 22, 2017 OK, Peter you have forced me out in the open with your beautiful collection! Once upon a time (2003?) I got over ambitious and decided to do a GT40 evolution collection and burned myself out before finishing it. Still trying to finish it and have even added some more to build. Thank you Peter and Rex for the inspiration.

Spex84 Posted October 24, 2017 Posted October 24, 2017 Wow, what a row of beautiful builds!! Spectacular stuff...I like all of them, but the Gulf livery always catches me eye.
TooOld Posted October 24, 2017 Posted October 24, 2017 Absolutely stunning ! What a beautiful collection of one of the most beautiful race cars ever built ! I love them all but have always had a thing for those Gulf colors , definitely my favorites .
PatW Posted October 24, 2017 Posted October 24, 2017 Fantastic builds well done! I remember these vividly as they were built and tested not far from where I live. As were the first AC Cobras.
Ridge Rider Posted October 25, 2017 Posted October 25, 2017 Too cool! I like the history and execution.
Gramps46 Posted October 25, 2017 Posted October 25, 2017 Ok, here is my Ford GT collection so far. Now lest you think I am taking sides on the "which came first, the chicken or the egg" discussion, I would have included the Lola MK6 GT if I had mine finished.
Mr. Metallic Posted October 25, 2017 Posted October 25, 2017 Peter, thank you so much for taking the time to type up that summary of the Ford GT40 program. It was an interesting read.I recently purchased the Gulf livery Fujimi kit, and have the HRM engine kit and wide wheels/tires on order. I'm hopeful I can make mine look even a fraction as good as yours came out. Just excellent builds all around of this iconic group of vehicles. Thanks again for sharing
superbike-shaun Posted October 25, 2017 Posted October 25, 2017 Hey, hats off, all amazing builds, im not worthy!
